Very, very good
Okay, so it’s the same story we know very well already... in an anniversary year. No prizes for originality, but the production values of this podcast are tremendous. DO NOT PLAY ON YOUR PHONE: you need to play this loud to fully appreciate the Hans Zimmer theme – and the gut-shaking sounds of rockets at launch, too. Just when you think the BBC have lost their way, they demonstrate what they can really do, when they manage to get away from obsessing about Brexit! If I have any criticism, it would be that too much of the podcast is spent on trails for subsequent episodes; on repetition; on self-congratulatory topping and tailing of the programme itself. You won’t notice this so much if you subscribe and listen to one episode a week... but this podcast will be very irritating if binge-listening to multiple episodes, back to back.
