“I've learned a lot and gained new perspectives from this podcast in many capacities: as a film score geek, as a film lover in general and as a musician. Every episode is entertaining and educational – and sometimes surprising (e.g. have you ever heard the temp tracks used in Star Wars side-by-side with the final score?) – whether I know that episode's score well or not. I think there are a good number of points of entry for this podcast: if you like the film or film series being checked out, if you like that film's score, or the composer of that film's score, or you're just interested in filmmaking or music in general. The research, erudition, musical demonstrations and exchanges of ideas in Art of the Score are presented in a friendly and articulate fashion that is fundamentally accessible, but which is capable of flowing to advanced levels at times without becoming obscure.
