It's beautiful how easy you make it look! Ps: I've watched the first 14 lectures driving back from Naples to Paris, and it kept me alert all the way - I'm now sitting down and doing the "problem sets" and i love it... Thank you and please do more of these!!!

I enjoyed this course so much I'm watching it again after a few years. Professor Baylin did an amazing job.

On the whole, a thorough and well taught introduction for those with limited mathematics. Others have commented on content but a few words about production are in order. First, the professor uses an overhead projector which severely restricts the volume of information the student can see at...Read full review »

I am a high school physics teacher, and my students are absolutely fascinated with these topics. I have also been inspired by his method of simplifying the calculations. The “fables” are fantastic. I love it.

Still one of the best courses on iTunes U. Thank you Mr Bailyn!

The way the professor teaches and carry the subject is simply amazing! He can keep your attention for the entire class and thats hard to see nowadays. The course is easy to understand without knowing too much of math,so for all those who thinks this class is difficult, you can simply go through...Read full review »

Very few professors have put in the amount of work Prof. Bailyn has to communicate modern science (the real science, not just some philosophy about it) to the lay public. A real service to the intelligent but non mathematical learner. After you take this course (needing only high school algebra)...Read full review »

So long as you have a reasonable university maths and physics background this lecture series will be very informative. I particulary like the fact that there is some real astronomy results shown which then lead into the theory behind this (eg. planetary transit of a star). Making the link...Read full review »

Relativity, Dark mater, Dark energy and a deep analisys of the universe in enjoyable and free high quality videos. It seems almost imposible but is true. Congratulations to Yale University for the idea and Mr. Baylin for the magistral lectures. Relatividad, materia y energía oscura y un profundo...Read full review »

Best iTunes U course I've come across. Takes you from the very basics to the frontiers of the subject. Also pretty funny at times too. Thank you Mr Bailyn: outstanding work.

As in-depth an exploration of exoplanets, black holes, and dark matter/energy as is possible without using calculus. You need to use math to understand these topics, but this course takes you by the hand and let's you get a grip on the science using 'just enough' math--basic algebra, and a...Read full review »

Best lecture series on astronomy, explains theories with simple maths without the use of calculators! I would attend any of his lectures if I could.

I see it's on top and really not by chance. Good course for "non-science majors". But I've got just here some problems: I can't download video files to watch it offline. Could you fix it? Thanx Курс отличный! Всем советую!

Wow, have lower division college courses been dumbed down since I graduated. That said, if you have a high school, non science non math level of education, you may find value in this course. The material presented, will give you an overview of the science of astronomy. It will also give you an...Read full review »

Отличный лектор очень интересно рассказывает и доступно. Советую всем! Подойдет больше для далёких от науки натур интересующиеся неизведанным и всегда не обычным космосом.

Professor Bailyn surely makes astrophysics gripping. While slightly out of date, the content is still very informative; the way it's explain is fresh and honest.
