ADHD and a Gap Year: Recovering from the Trauma
Listen now
Description
Not all ADHD students are ready for college after high school. Each student's readiness for college depends on their individual academic and social skills, as well as their ability to manage their ADHD symptoms. If a student with ADHD is not ready for college after high school, they may benefit from taking a gap year or taking classes at a local community college. To provide more insight on this subject, we are re-releasing our interview with Marie Paxson, former president of CHADD, who relates the good, the bad, and the ugly based on her experience as a parent of a son who took a gap year and why a gap year can be beneficial.
