“To sequester carbon in the soil, farmers DO NOT lock up land. Sequestering carbon in the soil is built through managing the land to increase soil organic matter. This involves livestock and crops i.e. agriculture. Sequestering carbon in agricultural soil is essential if we are going to continue producing food and fibre. I’m appalled that this poorly informed politician purports to advocate for farmers.”
