I’m so happy this podcast has returned! I love Helen & her guests’ discussions of Christmas classics and also new, and maybe future classic, entries to the seasonal catalogue!

I look forward to Helen’s Christmas podcast each year and so happy to see it back! I use as my guide to what new Xmas movies to watch each December. And in between, re-listen to women vs Hollywood. What’s not to love!

I enjoyed previous seasons, & was chuffed to hear that Helen and guests would be doing this again. I save the episodes for my pre-Christmas morning commutes, where they keep me from Scrooging out on everyone around me.

It’s now become a Christmas tradition to listen to Bah Humbag while walking the dog. I look forward to this every year, it’s a great show! And if you like this, buy Helen O’Hara’s book, it’s also great.

This is a great podcast to listen to in the run up to Christmas. It’s funny and engaging. I’m finding the new shorter format better too as it’s a bit easier to fit in when everything else is getting hectic!

What are Helen O’Hara fans called? Helen-holics? O’Hara heads? Yellin for Helen? I dunno, but I’m one of them. Helen is the best, whether she’s talking about Christmas movies or sexism is Hollywood. Listen to this podcast!!!!

This has soon become a festive favourite of mine and I am loving the new format. Great interviews and insight as well as a warm, articulate and engaging host, what more could you ask for!

A must-listen for all lovers and students of film. This is a perfect accompaniment to Helen O’Hara’s thoroughly researched and informative book.

Having listened to the audiobook, and following Helen (not in a stalker way honest) through the Empire Podcast & Magazine for years, when she launched this solo podcast I was so excited! And then I heard it...it elicits such deep recognition, annoyance and real anger, that I genuinely have...Read full review »

Helen is always incredibly engaging as both a writer and a host, and this podcast is no exception. An honest (and intersectional!) look at what matters when we talk about sexism, and women’s representation in film currently, and some brilliant and informative interviews that give you some hope...Read full review »

An intelligent, well-structured podcast about the struggles women face in the film industry. It is obvious how much thought and time and attention Helen and her guests have given to the subject. You will learn about the progressive ideas working their way into the industry, and also what you...Read full review »

Helen is always a balanced and insightful voice into the movie world, and this podcast is no exception. The conversations are always well thought out and worthwhile, while being kind and generally enthusiastic about movies and Hollywood silliness!

I listened to this audiobook as I realized that I would enjoy it so much more listening to Helen herself rather than listening to myself as I read it. The podcast is even better - I have learned so much from the book. And again from the podcast. I really like the format - insertions of specific...Read full review »

I love this. The book is excellent and the guests Helen brings on are some of my favourite podcasters on the subject of cinema. This is fun and interesting, and I am looking forward to more episodes.

Helen is one of the most thoughtful and intelligent film critics around and she brings her usual charm and wit to this podcast. Her guests are equally delightful and the premise of the show is wonderful for this time of year. Enjoy!

It’s Helen and Friends talking about Christmas movies! If you like these things you will love this, you will probably like it even if you are A Grinch not an Elf

Great to hear Helen O‘Hara unleashed, taking the lead on a topic she’s very passionate about. Very Brit‘ish, very Christmasy... love it :)

Around this time of year I always look for holiday podcasts but there are only a few that keep me engaged. I love films and The Empire Podcast, so I was ecstatic to learn that Helen was starting her own focused only on Holiday movies!! And she’s taking new ones and comparing them to classics,...Read full review »

After listening to Helen playing second fiddle to Chris, but often keeping the empire podcast ship heading in the right direction, it’s good to see her getting her own podcast for the festive period. If you enjoy Empire Podcast then this should be on your podcast list too.

I’ve always enjoyed Helen’s contributions to the Empire Film Podcast and was delighted to hear that she was creating her own show that examines and celebrates some classic and potentially not so classic holiday films. A fun roundtable discussion about Christmas films with an interesting rotating...Read full review »
