This episode validated everything my husband and I had concluded about medical care today. We are elderly [84 and 77] so we have seen a lot of medical care in our life times. It has gotten worse over time. Your guest is right. Delighted he is working on the side of the angels at AEI.

I love the variety of guests and topics! The hosts are well-informed or at least have educated curiosity on the topics and ask great questions to bring the listener along on the learning journey.

Nobody mentions the elephant in the room of today’s America: atheism. We can’t even talk about God in mainstream politics let alone this one little podcast!

I’ve always been interested in the sort of wonkery of public policy. Here’s a fantastic place to find it.

I have always enjoyed Banter for its smart insight into current events. But the addition of the AEI President to the pod (Robert) has been a negative, IMO. While Phoebe kicks off the pod, Robert (I think that’s his name) always rapidly elbows his way to the mike and never gives up. Since he is...Read full review »

I hate to give this 3 stars, seeing as I loved the previous iterations with different hosts. This show could be great, but the structure of it leaves something to be desired. Poor Phoebe should be allowed to speak more. It seems the guy just runs the whole show and asks questions that personally...Read full review »

Get to your questions right away. Don’t waste the listeners time talking about yourself. I don’t have the patience or time for it. For what could be a good podcast.

The hosts are well prepared and ask excellent questions. Ive listened to three episodes now and most recently to the one on identity politics. I was impressed by the hosts attempts to engage in a dialogue around identity politics even with Dr Hoff talking in circles and bouncing around topics...Read full review »

Max, other Max, and Matt manage to consistently produce episodes with prominent politicians, intellectuals, and journalists. I’ve found their content informative and entertaining. They give people a platform to explain the nuances of their ideas, not just the harsh one-liners currently...Read full review »

Love the podcast. As an AEI Enterprise Emeritus member I really appreciate being able to access content in this format. This podcast will also help grow the enterprise club. AEI rocks!

I love the podcast but there’s really no reason to have 3 hosts. Guests are great and I enjoy the topics. But 3’s a crowd.

There are many podcasts out there... this is one of the best. One thing that makes it stand out is the pace and consistent relevance of interview substance. No “fill” conversation, interviewers are extremely well-prepared to make the most of their time with first-class thought leaders.

Best episode I’ve heard yet. On a miserable 2 degree morning commute in Detroit Mi I laughed out loud at the bird scooter mandate. Never read Andrew Sullivan but I will be moving forward. The added length and depth was a great call, didn’t lose me for a second. Keep up the good work. “If you...Read full review »

This podcast has officially been added to my carefully growing collection. I find it full of the general and honest debate of ideas I wish the world had more of. Yes the institution itself is considered of a more conservative perspective but I believe that the hosts are excellent in their broad...Read full review »

Banter’s quality of guest just keeps going up! Loved the Sullivan and Flanagan interviews. And surfer bro is a winner! He has taken Banter to a new level. Keep up the good work.

Day one banter listener here... love the podcast and the guests have been great, even if the new surf bro has changed the academic tone... great ideas boys, but it’s not happy hour

I expected to bail quickly based on how young these guys sound, but I found myself wanting more by the end of the Flanagan episode. Pretty, pretty good.

I’ve been listening to Banter for a while and it is one of my favorite podcasts. The new crew is doing a great job and the new Max is spicing up the dialog. Great guests for the most part. I didn’t think I would enjoy banter as much after Spencer and Cece left, but Matt and Max do a better job than their predecessors. Their discussions are interesting and their chemistry is solid.

I continue to listen to this podcast because I appreciate the guests and the array of ideas discussed but I would love to hear more female thinkers and perspectives. I think the podcast could be greatly improved by a clever female cohost.

Love AEI, Love Banter. Very concerned that Matt Winesett totally snitched on his brother for juuling, not chill, gonna make for an awkward thanksgiving, but I’m giving you guys five stars anyway because I assume once you guys get enough five star ratings they let you into the Illuminati. - CK

If you are really into policy but hate the back and forth of politicians, this podcast is for you. Yes, it often simplifies issues, but that’s necessary to keep you engaged and inspire you to learn more. This is a fun, interesting, and thought provoking podcast. The Kim Strassel episode was enough to get me to leave a review. It consistently seems like these guys live in a mirror universe but this conversation was outrageous. There was no introspection, no pushing back, and mockery of stuff they don’t even pretend to understand.

My dear banter boys, sometimes I listen to your conversations and I cringe at the generation to come. “Are they all morons???” I also begin to wonder how the geniuses at AEI ended up with the two of you. As a neoliberal/liberal who values exposing himself to many different viewpoints, it’s nice to find a conservative discussion that usually avoids bad faith arguments. It is a tragedy that one of the most detailed oriented and informative podcasts on iTunes only has 50 ratings. Whatever policy or political trend you might be interested in, they will nerd it out on this podcast.

This is an excellent podcast for those who want to hear an thoughtful and light-hearted take on the politics and policy for the week.
