“I've listened to this podcast for years. It's not a review show; instead, episodes are centered around a theme in film or a person in the film industry. Or maybe just a comedian. Can I say cuss words here?
If you want to check out BATTLESHIP PRETENSION, try out one of the profile episodes (most episodes divisible by 10) or find a guest that you know. Either of the Doug Jones episodes are interesting, and you know that guy. You know. Tall, skinny, demon ice cream man in that movie LEGION. Or Hellboy. Or Pan's Babyrinth. Just check out the IMDB, all right?
The hosts are smart and approachable in their banter. I particularly like their reserved praise/hate; not every movie is "fantastic" or "tremendous" or "amazing". I'm looking at you ________________ podcast. Anyways, they know a lot about movies, they've seen a lot of them, but they're not above recommending a schlock-fest, either.
Oh, and it's not really pretentious at all.
