One of my favorites
Despite what their name might suggest, the guys at the Battleship Pretension offer their perspectives on film in a down-to-earth, completely relatable way. Yet I do not mean to imply that Tyler and David lack a proper screen literacy, as such is not the case. Rather, they come off as well-versed in all genres of the medium. Because of this, the listener can trust that their opinions are carefully-considered and informed for every movie. From foreign films to kids' movies to silent pictures to action blockbusters, every film is given a fair shake. What makes them extra special is their ability to look beyond the film as a whole and hone in on specific noteworthy details, whether it be acting, writing, directing, editing, cinematography, costume design, etc. With all these weapons in their arsenal, it is easy to see why the Battleship Pretension is one of the best movie podcasts out there.Read full review »

Maybe my favorite podcast, especially given how long it has been going. Greater depth than most podcasts, and excellent rapport between the hosts.
