Pseudoscience and quackery.
Having made it through the last 50 or so podcasts, I am officially over Ben Greenfield. His constant refrain of "I'm not a doctor, but here are some things that will help" essentially negates the disclaimer to begin with - and all of his claims about gluten, wheat, dairy, soy, legumes, and sugar are not based on legitimate, peer-reviewed studies, but rather (from the sound of it) from his buddies who rubbed together two brain cells and wrote a book. And the CONSTANT plugs for Bioletics and Mount Capra are really grating. And recommendations against seeing doctors in favor of these "miracle cures" from Bioletics just seems irresponsible. Where is the data that saliva tests are any more accurate than those from a doctor's office? Surely, if they were better, MD's would be using them as well, since blood is apparently so 20th century. I'd love information on nutrition and supplements that people who don't have Ben's surely impressive income can stomach.Read full review »
