“I have very recently been diagnosed with BPD. I am 48 and have been misdiagnosed all my life from childhood.
I started listening to your podcast and momentarily thought have I had amnesia and forgot that I wrote this as even though this was your voice and your experiences they mirror mine incredibly.
Im struggling to come to terms with my new diagnosis but also feel finally relieved that the penny has actually dropped.
You speak of things i didn't even know had a name and that I only thought happened to me.
I am currently under the mental health crisis team who are trying to create a plan of treatment and medication.
I just wanted to say thank you so so much as you are explaining things that no one else is and also giving coping skills.
I don't feel like i have much hope at the moment as for decades no other treatment or medication has worked but just listening to someone who has been there, is still there and is more importantly still here is incredibly comforting. Ive only listened to I think 4 episodes but im looking forward to the rest.
