Don’t look at the flash
As a child of the Cold War I was excited to hear about this podcast when it was announced on the Life of Augustus podcast and after listening to the first three episodes I am not disappointed. I was only seven when my parents decided to move the family from NY to Miami, and with impeccable timing they decided to do it about a week before the start of the Cuban Missile crisis. I had no idea what was going on but my parents and grandparents were totally freaked out and all I can remember is that they were figuring out how to get underground when our new house sat three blocks from the ocean at an elevation of about six feet above sea level. This was my introduction to the Cold War.
