Cliffnotes be damned!
I know what you may be thinking. I hated history at high school. Why should I bother now? Well if you’re still reading then you have an attention span and therefore more than two brain cells to rub together – which means you're the target audience. (People who cannot think in three dimensions or question their own beliefs need not read on). This poignant podcasting pair are informative, funny, well researched …mostly (come on Ray, you can do it) and strive to challenge everyone’s preset notions – their own included. Okay, they may have skimped a little on the details concerning the Yalta Conference, but I have learnt more from Cam and Ray than possibly any teacher I had at school. And if the Cold War isn’t your jam (and trust me, it would be if you gave it a chance) then take a listen to one of their many other podcast: Life of the Caesars, Life of Alexander the Great, The Renaissance Times and The BS Filter. They have taught me to go deep (in multiple ways) and to question everyone, especially myself and to see historical figures in context. Most importantly, I have learnt that DBAC is not merely a fun way to frustrate OCD people by rearranging the first letters of the alphabet, but is also the primary philosophy of life.Read full review »

Brilliant series. Well written, very funny and informative. While you need to stump up some $$ to listen to it I can thorouhly reccomend it - well worth the price of admisison.
