Like listening to radio theatre
I am a fan of role-playing games, as well as The Thrilling Adventure Hour (also a wonderfully humorous and thoroughly captivating podcast). What the crew has done here is create a compelling, easily accessible, hilarious, ongoing improv theatre using the rules from Fantasy Flight's "Edge of the Empire" Star Wars genre role-playing game. While the game's mechanics facilitate a story-telling atmosphere, Kat Murphy deftly nudges the cast into painting the world in the shades of a variety of classic tropes inspired by geek culture, film culture, and gaming culture. It is fun, engaging, irreverent, and a true inspiration to anyone interested in role-playing. Give it a listen, and get hooked on the exploits of the crew of the "Mynock". I recently discovered this podcast and tried to describe it to my friend and fellow gamer. His response was "i don't listen to podcasts like that". So just went out and bought the rules to this game. He may not enjoy this podcast as much as i do, but they've inspired me to create a story as fun, and seamless, and engaging as theirs. Thanks for offering an example of what good role-playing can be like. I'm sorry... I mean "Great" role-playing!!Read full review »

The Campaign and One Shot Podcasts have spoiled me with their high production values, great editing, and amazing content. FFG should start paying these guys for making their already amazing game sound like a quasi-religious experience.
