I heard Jesse talking with Terry O’Reilly on Under the Influence - I listened to it twice and I’m saving that episode to listen to again. I came in to check out Canadaland and I am definitely staying. One of the best news podcasts I’ve listened to.

Best podcast ever. Somehow I canceled my subscription by accident on my cell phone that I have paid for years ago and I hope my commercial-free status can continue. Love Jesse.

I like his voice and style but he has guest hosts often and I can’t stand them. Otherwise it would be 5 stars

Really enjoyed this episode. Such great insights from a couple of the originals in this format.

This show is very much what Canada needs in its news environment. Jesse’s sharp, frank, opinionated yet collaborative hosting is a big draw. I still love this show, but truthfully it seems like since around mid-fall 2022 it’s lost a bit of the unique direction and perspective that made it so...Read full review »

Yes, sure you’re smart! But please do not interrupt your guests. You didn’t let Nora speak! And she has sooo Much to say and she was your guest. Ugh. You shouldn’t be proving yourself at the expense of your guest. Folks listen to Nora And Sandy podcast to listen to these smart women!

Tried listening to gain honest, non-partisan Canadian info; this is not a venue for that.

A good jolt for one of those Americans who idealizes Canada as a kind of Utopia. But really, you can’t see Bing as an alternative to Google because you think it will be weird to say Bing? Please launch a Canadian campaign to “just say Bing” every time you’re about to say the “G” word. They’re...Read full review »

If you can look past the annoying ad reads and Jesse sounding like somebody who enjoys the smell of their own farts, then you might find some interesting gems and guests.

Lol this podcast is so biased. Is this the audio version of Druthers?

Listening to the episode on gun control and he is doing a great job of challlenging the lawyer who is obviously a Conservative and ascribes lots of Ill intention to the Liberals ( of course the Conservatives never play politics; haha). He is able to hold his ground and put forth arguments that...Read full review »

Been listening since you began and now I can’t without a subscription? Not a great way to treat your supporters.

Used to like, but the overtly leftist “liberal” framing of everything is extremely off putting if you’re not a hardcore partisan. That, and the smug sense of self importance you get from Jesse shreds the credibility Canadaland used to have.

Sometimes CanadaLand is on point trying to hold media to account. But then suddenly an episode comes up where the biased is showing and instead of reporting objectively it’s based on hate. Don’t preach journalistic integrity and then lose your own way. For this I cancelled my Pay Subscription.

Canadaland used to be a good place to go to hear about Canadian media and learn a bit about what goes on behind the story. It was the only place where journalists were held to account for their reporting and media corporations were held to a standard. Now it is just one of many left leaning...Read full review »

Jesse has the ability to see beyond his biais and ask hard questions even when they don’t fit the traditional left leaning narratives. He has strong convictions on journalistic practice and holds that standard to everyone- politicians, his guests, and other journalists. I do wish that he had...Read full review »

I respect Jesse‘s thought process and always like to hear his take on the news each week but every time I start to like the podcast there’s some sort of large oversight which demonstrates their massive blind spot and the fact they clearly come from the corporate media no matter how hard they try....Read full review »

Asking questions and covering angels that other news casts aren’t. Even though this is not a daily news show, I hear things here first. And then get different perspectives on the daily news cycle. Love shortcuts! And all the content that Jesse and Crew deliver!

I always admired and respected Jesse’s ability to push back on his guests and contributors’ opining, but some of the guest hosts of late just slather on the mmm-hmm-ing and make me nauseous while I try to eat my breakfast and listen

The quality of discussion is incredibly uneven - a bit like Fox News for woke types - sadly not very good but I assume they are under enormous financial pressure so I guess they have to declare their colours to get money from listeners. Canada needs a news source that at least attempts to be...Read full review »

I love your podcast and was satisfied with your coverage of recent events in Saskatchewan. However the discussion / comparison with NS glossed over two significant concerns. A great source of information you don’t get from the main stream. But Jesse’s takes are more often terrible than good. He’s got “everyone who is to the right of me on any issue is a white supremacist” vibes. His takes on cancel culture are extremely out of touch. People are not “fighting for the...Read full review »

This podcast seems very one sided, favouring Lisa Banfield and in fact vilifying anyone who has questions about her version of the events leading to the mass murders. The trouble is the episode cast doubt on other reporting on the issue and was presented as if it was factual and other information...Read full review »

Not everyone who doesn’t want an experimental vaccine is an anti-vaxxer… this podcast has no ability to be non-biased and falls into the falseness of labeling people based on their own person medical choices. These days, it’s hard to find an honest news channel that just delivers the facts, without a lot of political garbage. This is that. Plain talk about Canadian issues.

As a white person who was born in Canada, I do not identify as a “settler”. I’m clearly not the target audience for this project, which is ok.
