I much appreciate this frank, honest and often ribald look at Canadian media—something rare in the wider mediascape. Fresh takes on unexpected topics. A gem in the podcast world.

Have been a subscriber for many years. Have really enjoyed Canadaland and its other content. I unsubscribed after the Burning Down The Jewish Deli Is Not Kosher episode where the guest (in regards to free Palestine protests) asked “Like what exactly is being requested now, I’m not entirely sure”...Read full review »

Was a huge fan of this podcast, thought it served such an important function in the Canadian news space, but Jesse’s accusations, lack of humanity and downright contempt for Palestinians and those who empathize with their plight is too much for me to stomach.

I followed all the Canadaland podcasts and supported the patreon; but it is an organization now circling the drain. Jesse Brown's defence of AI Porn of Taylor Swift was the final nail in the coffin for me.Read full review »

I didn’t think Jesse Brown could get this bad but here we are.

I’ve learned more about how this country works though Canadaland’s podcasts than I would ever have thought possible! I appreciate Karen Pugliese’s editorial leadership, the excellent reportage of all Canadaland journalists on a variety of topics, and (especially in these times) Jesse’s...Read full review »

Feels like, if you’re going to say Sarah Hagi agrees with you, you might as well have her on the show to say so for herself

I so enjoy this show, and appreciate the platform provided to give voice to folks from many different backgrounds. Keep on doing what you’re doing!

So grateful to have a news source that is still investigative and reports on facts not opinion, that cares about unveiling truth and doesn’t depend on sensationalism. Well worth supporting by listening, sharing and funding.

I can’t listen to this show in good conscience considering Jesse Brown’s active work to undermine the Palestine Solidarity movement, as well as his refusal to cover firings of journalists who express solidarity. I basically learned about media criticism through listening to this show as I grew...Read full review »

My favourite podcast that I recommend to all my friends and family. Wonderful reporting that I can’t get anywhere else!

Long time Canadaland listener, up until recently I have loved all the content & the progressive voice of the series. I’ve been considering subscribing for some time but Jesse’s recent editorial addressing his stance on Zionism has me on pause. It was not enough. As Canadians we are...Read full review »

The trolls are out in full force to slander Jesse Brown for being… Jewish? The anti semitism is strong in these reviews. Canadaland is a top notch podcast and I look forward to each episode.
Sarah who? via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 12/01/23
I supported the Canadaland Patreon for 8.5 years. Now the publisher is on twitter saying anyone who goes to a ceasefire rally is "antisemitic" and anyone who criticizes Israel is "anti-Zionist". This was brilliant, inspiring and definitive for a long while. But how can I ever...Read full review »

Don’t trust that Jesse guy and can’t separate him from this podcast.

I’ve listened to canadaland for years. I understand Jesse Brown to be Jewish. And I am surprised that there has been no episodes talking about the complexities of settler colonialism actively happening since 1948 and that recently the intensity of genocide towards Palestinian people. I would hope...Read full review »

Funny how they can have a great podcast on the abuse indigenous people face in thunder bay but defend Zionism? Will not be subscribing anymore.

jesse brown shares false information and zionist propaganda online. do not trust his opinions.

I just realized that the host is the same guy spreading Zionist misinformation on Twitter! I used to love this show, what a let down!

Maybe especially when it makes me angry. I hadn’t realized how starved I was for REAL journalism and critical thought until my sister recommended Canadaland. It feels good to be challenged. Canada’s lucky to have this.

I love this show and the reports it highlights, HOWEVER and it’s a big however, every time my husband and I try to listen to a show, the male host talks so fast and not always into the microphone that we quite often miss stuff. I have tried slowing the speed to 3/4x but then the host just sounds...Read full review »

Canadaland is one of the few, if not the only, news source putting in the work to provide thorough, factual and complex journalism for Canadians. This podcast is a great resource for staying in the know when many other outlets and especially social media, are failing us. 10/10.

I really appreciate that Canada Land covers the issues that the big sources do not.

Your episode with Chantal Hébert was exceptionnel. I have respected her intelligence, commitment to truth and insights for years. This episode should air every 6 weeks. Thanks for all you do.

I appreciate any and all independent media in the journalistic Sahara that is the nation of Canada.

I had to turn it off about 10 minutes in. The guy who was “reading” the main bulk of the story sounded like an eighth grader doing his first public speaking assignment. Ugh. When Jesse hosts I’d give it 5 stars and I do like when there is a woman hosting, but the other male hosts? I just can’t.

Very informative episode on foreign interference. High quality journalism & media analysis

This is a truly excellent podcast. I deducted one star because it skews toward a Torontonian view of Canada. I deducted the second star because of all the F-bombs being dropped by the host and many guests. This makes it so that I can't listen to it in front of the kids. You're not in...Read full review »

Had been a subscriber for years, but am unsubscribing today due to Jesse’s decision to platform the pro Putin, pro Assad conspiracist hack Aaron Mate without challenging him in any way at all. Really disappointing.

I heard Jesse talking with Terry O’Reilly on Under the Influence - I listened to it twice and I’m saving that episode to listen to again. I came in to check out Canadaland and I am definitely staying. One of the best news podcasts I’ve listened to.

Best podcast ever. Somehow I canceled my subscription by accident on my cell phone that I have paid for years ago and I hope my commercial-free status can continue. Love Jesse.

This show is very much what Canada needs in its news environment. Jesse’s sharp, frank, opinionated yet collaborative hosting is a big draw. I still love this show, but truthfully it seems like since around mid-fall 2022 it’s lost a bit of the unique direction and perspective that made it so...Read full review »

A good jolt for one of those Americans who idealizes Canada as a kind of Utopia. But really, you can’t see Bing as an alternative to Google because you think it will be weird to say Bing? Please launch a Canadian campaign to “just say Bing” every time you’re about to say the “G” word. They’re...Read full review »
