Canadaland has grown stale and failed in its goal of media criticism Jesse has allowed his personal beliefs to interfere with its mission, and it increasingly feels like i’m listening to a rich man play out his fantasy of being a journalist I’ve stoped paying and i’ve stopped listening

I have used Canadaland as a way to learn about media literacy, bias, and corrupt journalism in Canada. I will now be implementing the lessons you taught me, and leaving this deeply corrupt space.

Jesse Brown has shown his true colours as a zionist who will not listen to reason, and it’s really changed how I see this project. Also discovering Jesse’s media family legacy it’s like… this is an entitled rich white toronto man who doesn’t care what other people think if they don’t agree with...Read full review »

This WAS a great podcast and I’ve been following for over 8 years, but now Jesse is ridiculously critical of peaceful Palestinian human rights protestors and is spreading clear falsehoods about them— particularly those in Toronto. As if protesting a genocide is somehow anti-Semitic. Give me a...Read full review »

Used to listen to every new Canadaland. But Jesse Brown has revealed himself as the most morally bankrupt Canadian since October last year. Canadaland has no issues getting clicks and $$$ from Indigenous stories but supports the genocide of Indigenous people in Palestine. Disgusting

Jesse Brown is a Zionist and this podcast only focuses on “Israel” and issues surrounding that. It used to be alright, but now it’s completely unlistenable and doesn’t focus on real things that matter.

Canadaland pretended to be an alternative to the MSM. It is clear that Jesse and the present staff of Canadaland is toeing the party line on Palestine. If you can’t get Palestine right, and end up supporting Netanyahu, you’re not alternative media, you’re just whitewashing war crimes.

After being a loyal listener for years I have unsubscribed from Canadaland. Jesse Brown’s blatant bias and disingenuous coverage of the genocide in Gaza has revealed his true colours.

I can’t follow shortcuts anymore. After years of following the show I am unsubscribing. While I’ve often disagreed with Jesse on issues, I’ve generally been able to follow the thread. However, Jesse’s inability to cover the war in Gaza with impartiality coupled with an unwillingness to leave the...Read full review »

I much appreciate this frank, honest and often ribald look at Canadian media—something rare in the wider mediascape. Fresh takes on unexpected topics. A gem in the podcast world.

Have been a subscriber for many years. Have really enjoyed Canadaland and its other content. I unsubscribed after the Burning Down The Jewish Deli Is Not Kosher episode where the guest (in regards to free Palestine protests) asked “Like what exactly is being requested now, I’m not entirely sure”...Read full review »

Was a huge fan of this podcast, thought it served such an important function in the Canadian news space, but Jesse’s accusations, lack of humanity and downright contempt for Palestinians and those who empathize with their plight is too much for me to stomach.

I followed all the Canadaland podcasts and supported the patreon; but it is an organization now circling the drain. Jesse Brown's defence of AI Porn of Taylor Swift was the final nail in the coffin for me.Read full review »

I didn’t think Jesse Brown could get this bad but here we are.

I’ve learned more about how this country works though Canadaland’s podcasts than I would ever have thought possible! I appreciate Karen Pugliese’s editorial leadership, the excellent reportage of all Canadaland journalists on a variety of topics, and (especially in these times) Jesse’s...Read full review »

Feels like, if you’re going to say Sarah Hagi agrees with you, you might as well have her on the show to say so for herself

I so enjoy this show, and appreciate the platform provided to give voice to folks from many different backgrounds. Keep on doing what you’re doing!

So grateful to have a news source that is still investigative and reports on facts not opinion, that cares about unveiling truth and doesn’t depend on sensationalism. Well worth supporting by listening, sharing and funding.

I can’t listen to this show in good conscience considering Jesse Brown’s active work to undermine the Palestine Solidarity movement, as well as his refusal to cover firings of journalists who express solidarity. The trolls are out in full force to slander Jesse Brown for being… Jewish? The anti semitism is strong in these reviews. Canadaland is a top notch podcast and I look forward to each episode.

I supported the Canadaland Patreon for 8.5 years. Now the publisher is on twitter saying anyone who goes to a ceasefire rally is "antisemitic" and anyone who criticizes Israel is "anti-Zionist". This was brilliant, inspiring and definitive for a long while. But how can I ever...Read full review »

Maybe especially when it makes me angry. I hadn’t realized how starved I was for REAL journalism and critical thought until my sister recommended Canadaland. It feels good to be challenged. Canada’s lucky to have this.

I love this show and the reports it highlights, HOWEVER and it’s a big however, every time my husband and I try to listen to a show, the male host talks so fast and not always into the microphone that we quite often miss stuff. Canadaland is one of the few, if not the only, news source putting in the work to provide thorough, factual and complex journalism for Canadians. This podcast is a great resource for staying in the know when many other outlets and especially social media, are failing us. 10/10.

I had to turn it off about 10 minutes in. The guy who was “reading” the main bulk of the story sounded like an eighth grader doing his first public speaking assignment. Ugh. When Jesse hosts I’d give it 5 stars and I do like when there is a woman hosting, but the other male hosts? I just can’t.
