Fascinating hearing about how the investigation unfolded and great narration. Binged 5 eps in one day. Julia, you not only have excellent PI skills you also make a fantastic Podcast.

A really great story, but wow the ego of the narrator was tedious. She brings herself up at every opportunity.
Baker David via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 12/16/23
The story was OK but most of the phone conversations were poor quality and you couldn’t understand the conversations. [spoiler ahead] after chasing this guy for 15 years and with all of the people that were scammed, he gets a two-year sentence in jail and the narrator says they finally got...Read full review »

Honestly Julie, you had me on the edge of my seat. Couldn’t believe how good it was and how satisfying to finally get to the end. Well done.

I fell across Julia on TikTok, where she mentioned a podcast, so I had to go check it out & im so glad I did. The way you tell the story hooks you straight in and I love the actors and sound effects!! Very much raising the standard for podcasting. Thankyou for making this and educating us,...Read full review »

Great work Julia! Some of the audio is difficult to hear, but you never lose the gist. Please update us to where this societal menace is now!

What a fantastic story and brilliant investigative work

The individual stories of Vivian and the other women were gripping, but podcast became repetitive and drawn out towards the last few episodes. Story loses something when the narrator puts herself at the centre. Could have been more tightly edited down.

What an incredible podcast. Working in law it’s not every day you see someone take on a case and see it through to the end no matter how long it takes. Highly recommend and well worth the listen;!

This podcast could of been great. Needs editing. Extremely repetitive and drawn out. The narrator also could be changed or have the script written for her as she big notes herself too much. I couldn’t keep listening due to her lengthy descriptions of herself and job.

Irritating how much Julia made this podcast about herself and how talented she is as a PI
frrankiee via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 04/10/22
Good podcast focusing on a conman though sometimes the audio quality wasn’t great and the host is a bit full of herself at times. She is a good narrator though.

Great podcast but the beeping noises are AWFUL
ohlivviyah via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/06/22
The host sounds like she’s got a wide on for Charlie. She keeps mentioning how much of a mad rooter he is.
Guefelly via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 02/02/22
Good story spoilt by the writer bigging herself up at every opportunity.

Julia’s journey following a conman was insightful, gripping and respectful of the victims. There is one less perpetrator thanks to Julia’s tenacity

Binged listened to this in one day, thoroughly enjoyed it. Well researched and put together. Julia is an excellent host😁

What a brilliant podcast. I am a prosecutor and am frequently disappointed by podcast producers’ inability to fairly and accurately represent criminals, victims and the justice system in other true crime podcasts - but Julia did an incredible job of that in Chasing Charlie. I particularly...Read full review »

A good story ruined by a presenter with the most annoying voice & accent. Her delivery was flat & wooden. May have been better to have used an actor. We’d then also have been spared all the dull personal details. A misguided decision to keep making someone dull central. Aspects of real...Read full review »

Great podcast about tracing a conman and justice prevailed

Fascinating story full of unbelievable twists. It’s amazing how one person can lie so often and so successfully! Amazing pro-bono work from the narrator and pi, too.

Loved this series so much, Julia is amazing and commands attention in every episode. Would listen again!

Another fascinating podcast about a sociopathic conman. It’s frightening to think we live amongst this kinds of person. Well done. Only criticism - maybe need to lay off the (frankly laughable) comments about how shocking it is that this guy is a kiwi! Haha some of the most violent and disturbing...Read full review »

Enjoying this. Sound effects are driving me a bit nuts and I also cannot get over how utterly stupid this woman is. The more they speak the more I shake my head in disbelief. Insane
Skins.K via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 05/17/21
I loved every second! Heart and soul were put into this investigation. Why bother with TV when you can listen to quality like this.

Good story. However when people are speaking obviously by phone, you can’t understand what they’re saying. Makes it hard to keep listening !

I think this is an excellent podcast and I strongly recommend it to all true crime lovers

The sad story was told with great detail and emotion. It was easy to listen to and I didn’t want ‘to put it down.’ The details of text sounds, typing sounds, ringing sounds, etc was a great part. I hope this helps women (all people) realize if this is happening to them. I recommend!

Having been the victim of a conman, I found this story very interesting and compelling. It’s well told and structured. My only criticism is that Julia Robson (who is great) doesn’t let us forget that she is a an amazing PI. I’m all for self confidence and its admirable, but at times it almost...Read full review »

I enjoyed this story but the audio was terrible! The narrater plays several phone call playbacks and they are very hard to make out.

Great listening to the work of Julia and her doggedness determination to get the offender. Also enjoyed listening to a true crime episode without a murder involved.
Susanlance via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 01/06/21
Once you start listening, you won’t be able to stop. Julia Robson: great detective, excellent narrator. The personal stories of the victims are at times very difficult to listen to, because their honesty and sincerity inspire such empathy and compassion. This story is amazing- but Julia (who I think is brilliant) makes the victims secondary. The first few episodes were fascinating with interviews from the victims, but it felt like the last ones were all about Julia catching him for her own pride. Please don’t think I’m belittling Julia at all,...Read full review »

The victims did a brave and great job telling their side. The host however praises herself way too much. I can understand this was hard work of hers for many years but her evidence alone would be enough for us to realise this without her reminding us with every episode. Next time just stick to...Read full review »

This podcast was so gripping I could not stop listening. I was happy when you fought him using his own game at a place that he loved. Sad that he may not spend as much time in jail as he should. I lived the way the story was told it followed through methodically. Well done I can not wait to...Read full review »
