I really enjoyed this podcast. I love true crime and this story did not disappoint. Great work Julia. I look forward to listening to more of tour work. Well done.

Well done Julia for sticking to the case and catching a con artist. The podcast is well put together. I could hardly wait to move to each chapter to discover what happened!

Really enjoyed this podcast. I usually listen to murder podcasts but this was a great change. I was so disappointed in the end with his sentence though , wish he had got a lot longer !! Great show 🥰

This podcast was addictive! Could have done with a script editor (strangely verbose in some sections eg self congratulatory) but really needing more explanation in others (yes we know this man was revolting but how? More adjectives needed besides missing teeth!). Also it appears that many of...Read full review »

Really enjoyed listening to this story, although the events for the victims are harrowing. The “eureka” moment at the arrest, is uplifting and well deserved. I hope that those who fell into Charlie’s trap find some real peace. 🙏

Informative, angry, sad, compassionate, unforgettable podcast a bit like but different “who the hell is Hamish”, sad to say but I know a few beautiful people that had this happen to them, me nearly one. You can never see in the dark but you can see out if it . Great podcast 💋

Interesting case of a scammer hiding all over the world. Weak story telling. The narrator/investigator claims the case is personal because the guy is also from New Zealand (eye roll) and then goes to exploit her friend’s sexual experiences to gain an audience for the podcast. Also, the audio for...Read full review »

Brilliant, detailed, captivating podcast! I really loved how the facts where told, it was clear and didn’t get too heavy. It was really satisfying that ‘Charlie’ was finally caught and the people that he had hurt where able to get some satisfaction. Would love a follow up episode to hear an update 😊

I really enjoyed this. Julia is a legend.

Loved having a real PI tell how she approached this story. Too bad the sound effects were so annoying...the sharp pings every time the victim mentions texts drove my dog off the couch. And there there often these seemingly unrelated background sounds that distracted from the speaker. If I wasn’t...Read full review »

The audio is terrible, there’s a clicking sound when the narration switches from one person to another. I wish I could listen to the end but that sound is too annoying.

Brilliant podcast, couldn’t put it down, really enthralling, he should have been given 10 years or more for the mess he has made and the amounts he has stolen! In fact hanging is too good for the scrote!
YO Scarborian via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 09/07/20
Great study, but poor recording quality. Also the start of each show uses a voice clip that is not relevant or a teaser to want you to continue

Great story - pulls you in. The interviews are raw and personal. The narration is pulled along by the investigation. You will especially like this podcast if you liked Who Is Hamish.

Great storytelling, fascinating story but the music and sound effects oh my God please get rid of them they are so distracting that I almost can’t listen. They actually obscure some of the dialogue which is really frustrating for me

This podcast was a great listen. Not only do you get to hear from the women impacted by this conman but you also feel like you’re right by Julies’s side throughout her hunt. I would love to hear more from Julie! Go get ‘em girl!

What a great podcast, so amazing that you continued to follow him. I enjoyed your detailed info - it’s helpful to understand the process. Armchair critics are the worst don’t listen to their boring comments.

Overall it was an interesting true story that made for a good listen. It could have been 5 stars but the additional sound effects and excessive dialogue dedicated to the narrator’s talent as a PI was frustrating and detracted from the story. Promising beginning as I enjoy true crime and its resolution. However the sound engineer is just too intrusive with his or her own ‘art’ and the sound effects destroyed the narrative just too many times to keep me engaged. Near the end of episode 1 I gave up and found something similar that...Read full review »

Enjoyed listening to the podcast but can’t believe he only got just over 2 years jail time. For all his crimes he deserved at least 10 years. Pathetic criminal system.

This podcast gave me chills. Too many similarities to my situation and that of hundreds of other women who were duped by the sociopath we let into our lives.

Interesting story (basically another version of Dirty John and Who the Hell is Hamish) but not as good - narrator spends the entire podcast talking about what a good PI she is and telling us what to think rather than allowing us to draw our own conclusions. This is a great podcast. I was a little hesitant to listen after reading the reviews. I don’t like the background noises and sound effects, they’re a little distracting. But I love the story telling. Brilliant work to Julia! You handled that with such compassion and grace. To all the intelligent women who trusted their gut, investigated, and refused to let it go I applaud you. I hope more people come forward and he can be charged again and serve more time. What a scum bag.
