What is his problem with Wynette?
These episode intros can really feel indulgent and tangential. Similarly, the treatment of Wynette is problematic at times as it makes Jones look great and her look like a deranged liar. Otherwise, it’s good and well researched. He can just be very absolutist and strident in how he creates narratives, and at the end of the day, it is a narrative, it’s not objective truth.
