“These episode intros can really feel indulgent and tangential. Similarly, the treatment of Wynette is problematic at times as it makes Jones look great and her look like a deranged liar. Otherwise, it’s good and well researched. He can just be very absolutist and strident in how he creates narratives, and at the end of the day, it is a narrative, it’s not objective truth.”
