This is a fascinating insight into Indigenous oral histories and scientific discoveries. The implication is that we would do well to learn from them about how to listen, how to value the wisdom of our elders, and how to learn from the past. Thank you Richard, Patrick and ABC.

I had this on auto download when Richard was a constant. He is an intelligent guy and his on the run questions were generally what I was wondering along the way. Not so much anymore, too white too old too male I guess eh abc

I would highly recommend Conversations, especially Richard Fidlers interviews, as not only are you hearing the facts from the journalist or victim ect, but Richard won’t just listen and add opinions or comment on an event, often he will point out a detail, and once it’s talked about, the podcast...Read full review »

So great but please mark repeat episodes.

Nothing against Richard, and I thoroughly enjoy his episodes too. I just find Sarah’s interview style much more inquisitive and less invasive. She also resists talking about herself, something that Richard can’t seem to stop himself from doing.

Really interesting content and great guests but Richard Fiedler is sooooo annoying, patronising and old fashioned. Almost can’t listen to this due to him.

After listening to the episodes on the royal commission and mortgage lending, I was gobsmacked by the lack of actual knowledge of the industry discussed. Might be a good idea to talk to people in the industry rather than go off one persons opinion to understand it. All the figures bandied around...Read full review »

I am unsubscribing as there are now too many repeats and Richard is frequently not interviewing.

I used to really like this podcast but now I’m suffering deja vu with the amount of repeated episodes... would be great if repeated episodes were marked as repeats

Five Stars when it’s Richard interviewing. He’s a master conversationalist, truly gifted! I wish each episode would say which interviewer it has, so you don’t have to download episodes you don’t want.

I wasn’t sure that I would like listening to this type of podcast but I really enjoy it! The guests have really interesting and diverse stories. My favourites so far have been the interviews with Dr Denish Palipana, RFD nurse Louise Burton and the story about Australia’s first policewoman,...Read full review »

This episode beats them all! How’s that for an immigration story... This kid has overcome so much and speaks like a true Aussie, because he is! Such a wonderful young man with such a great story and family! It is an absolute honour to have you as part of us, it truly is

Love this podcast, but please just let Richard do all the episodes!! His interview style is far superior to any of the others on the podcast.

Listened to the Space Gandalf episode today, I don’t usually write reviews but it was fantastic, highly recommended.

Stopped listening because of the son. Just keeps interrupting and thinks he’s a comic really irritating. The old man should be left to talk a lot more.

What a great informative conversation about the real life of s soldier of WW2, post war, ups and downs of family life inherited perhaps by being a soldier. We all take freedom for granted now though no one cannot enjoy what we are enjoying without the sacrifices made by those brave soldiers. I...Read full review »

Sami Shah's Shutup was excellent - a detailed attempt at teasing out just what free speech really is, why it's important, and how it can be abused, ranging from Ancient Greece to the present day. He talks to people from all over the political spectrum.

Love the variety of the guests on this show. I absolutely love these podcasts. However as an avid long term listener I find it frustrating when episodes are repeated but aren’t marked as repeats on the podcast. The length of these shows are perfect for my morning walks with my dogs. Love the variety of topics. Keep up the good work!

Listening to Jeff & Stan’s voices was like a symphony to my ears. The content opened my eyes. One of the best podcasts out there, only gripe is that old episodes are presented as new and they do not identify the episode as a repeat, really frustrating if you are a long term listener.

I would love to hear more from Simon - what a fascinating interview. Also must pay homage to our interviewer Richard who has that rare ability to really listen to what his guest is saying and respond appropriately so that the conversation blossoms. Rae

I love this podcast 9 out of 10 times but please Sara pull back from the mike a little as it’s picking up little mouth noises that take away from you’re smooth voice and the great interviews you do consistently.

Richard and Sarah (and recently Hamish) do the most amazing job and drawing out stories from the people the converse with. Even if the topic is not of particular interest, I'm still immersed and mesmerized by the conversation. Love it, thank you

Have been a loyal listener for years but switched off when Richard was on extended leave. Found Hamish’s interviews hard to listen to and is it just me or are they running out of really interesting material/interviewees? Sorry Hamish but if you ever replace Richard full time, I won’t be tuning in.
