“I hated history in grade school and high school. I didn't hate it in college, but still never really appreciated it. It's only been in the years since then that I've acquired an interest.
If even one of my teachers had the passion and imagination Dan Carlin puts into his podcasts, I'd have had a whole new outlook on all those classes. Rather than dates and names, Dan makes history into something to play with. Turn it over, examine it with "what if" in mind. Try and figure out WHY things happened, not just that they did. Don't recite... IMAGINE.
History is fascinating, if you view it from the right perspective. Dan Carlin captures that better than any teacher or professor I've ever had. I anticipate new podcasts of Hardcore History more than any other podcast.”Read full review »
