“Gentlemen, my husband and I are professors (I work on European literature and he works on South Asian religion). He was so excited by your coverage of the Komagatu Maru incident!
Dark Poutine is MY podcast that I discovered! Just kidding Scott and Mike — I just feel a bit possessive as you gentlemen soar to (podcast) fame with your loons and Kraftwerk-esque theme. I raved about you from the very beginning as you both are just total naturals — you are very intelligent and deeply empathetic and totally hilarious and your long friendship makes it all even better. I love this podcast and I recommend it very highly!
Dark Poutine is just beautifully put together — the lonely and haunting loons calling at the beginning as we settle in for the story (great way of bringing us to Canada — makes me think that Casefile should add a Kookaburra!), the superb pacing, the humor from Scott that is never ever callous or indifferent to victims, and above all, the outstanding levels of empathy you gentleman display as you discuss these cases. Seriously — it is so moving to hear you choke up as you tell a victim’s story because you actually care and relate to these victims and remember their humanity and think of your own life situations. It’s beautiful — thank you Northern cousins!!! Bravo!”
