“Mike - I just listened to your Episode 10 Mike meets a Monster in 1981. Thank you for your bravery in speaking about your personal experience with sexual assault and how this trauma affected you. I was told about this podcast by a fellow police officer. You touch on a lot of the reactions I have heard from survivors, that they were embarrassed/ashamed/felt like they were inconveniencing the police and others by coming forward. Your explanation of learning about how common your reaction of fight/flight/freeze and how you know now that it wasn’t your fault. So important for people to share and also hear that they are not alone. Thank you for doing this podcast and shedding much needed light on the fact that a lot of boys and young men have also experienced sexual assault.”
