Hosts Rob and Mark have an enviable depth of knowledge and a real love for the show both past and present, but whereas other podcasts simply settle into covering the same subjects in the same tired way you've heard 100 times, Rob and Mark make the show truly FUN to listen to, no matter what they're discussing. 42TD stands out because they don't cover the Who world with rose-colored glasses or engage in empty rah-rah happytalk, but fearlessly and honestly express their well-reasoned views even if they go against the mainstream.
