This is the best drumming podcast I have ever heard! I just found it several months ago and it is addicting. I come away feeling much smarter after each episode! Keep up the great work, Bart.

This podcast is super helpful for understanding more about drums and nerding out about cool history. The guests are great too! It’s funny, when I followed Drum History Podcast on Instagram, all the other drummers I follow are fans too!

I very much appreciate this podcast! As a female drummer, I would really love/be very interested in more topics involving female drummers/more female guests. Two topics I’d personally love: history of Tom Tom magazine (even though the guest on the “history of drum magazines” episode did not...Read full review »

If you are a drummer and you are interested in kit, vintage and otherwise, and the history of playing drums then this is the podcast for you. It’s well edited and just gets straight into the facts with no waffle, love it!

Lots of us play drums because we love the gear. I subscribe to a few drum podcasts, but Drum History is the only one that provides the deep dive into the gear. Bart is a great host. The episodes are always interesting.

Enjoyable podcast with a host that seems to know little about drum or music history. Maybe he’s doing this to learn along the way? He speaks in general terms, often just repeating back or reacting to points his guests make. It often sounds like he has not researched the topics to any real degree....Read full review »

Growing up as a kid in Chicago during the late 60s I was fortunate enough to be around when brands like Ludwig and Slingerland were at the forefront of the drumming industry. I’m the kid who stripped his entire Ludwig kit and packed the lugs with cotton so the springs wouldn’t buzz. Hearing...Read full review »

If you play drums or just find drums and drummers interesting then you will really enjoy this show. Bart and his guests open the doors to the wide world of drumming and make it fun to learn the context that makes it all possible. This is NOT thinly disguised promotional material; it is genuine...Read full review »

Bart has introduced me to so many artists, companies, and concepts in drumming. He has such fantastic guests, asks great questions, and also does a great job tying everything all together in a really pleasant listening experience. Thank you, Bart!!!

This is a really great podcast. It’s fascinating and enlightening and I think it would be really interesting for people who may not even be drummers or even not interested in being one.

Brad is an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inquisitive host. The choice of topics are deep and entertaining. Suggestion for a program for me is the drummers of New York 1950-1970. Panama Francis, Buzzy Drootin, Bernard Purdie, Mel Lewis, Grady Tate etc. were busy and productive on the NY...Read full review »

Bart has really developed his knack of being able to bring out the best in an interview. An interview may start a bit slower, but hang around and you’ll find it becoming interesting in ways you couldn’t have seen coming. If you get hooked like I did, don’t miss out on the older episodes-they are...Read full review »

I just finished the first episode on the history of the “trap” set. Ha, from the “contraption”, who knew? Also, the story behind percussionist and noisemakers was so fascinating. No matter what industry you are in, it’s always beneficial to know the history. Too many drummers don’t know of who and what has come before them, and this show does a great job at solving that problem
