Best in its Class
If you want to know what economics is really about but can't afford Grad School, EconTalk is the answer. Your host is Prof. Russ Roberts of the Economics Department of George Mason University, one of the leading economics departments in the US. The format is a weekly in-depth interview of about an hour or more on a particular subject, book or issue. The guests are a wide variety of very interesting people: they range from Nobel Laureates in Economics to journalists and authors. The interview style resembles an intelligent and witty dinner party conservation; you do not have to have studied economics to enjoy and learn from it, as it is conducted at the level of the intelligent layperson. The EconTalk website includes links to journal articles, books, etc, which were referred to during the podcast. this is very useful, if you want to follow-up on a particular theme or point. All in all, the weekly EconTalk podcast is an absolute joy and is easily the highlight of my listening week.Read full review »
