This is the best podcast, I’ve listened for a while now and it never fails to lift my spirits whilst also touching on some serious topics with a deft touch. They seem like a good bunch and I very often laugh out loud whilst listening. Keep up the good work!

…and the BBC will continue to shoot itself in the foot seemingly unable to realise this. Decide if you are making radio for a broad audience or a “comedians talk to each other and people who like them”podcasts. The new show has too little structure and suffers from having entire crate Blanche....Read full review »

I’ve listened from the beginning of the X FM says but this new format has fallen flat for me. I adore Elis and Jon and listening to the old podcast was always a treat to look forward too, but not now. Too many ‘features’ that all feel a bit too forced and contrived and just not entertaining. ...Read full review »

PCD for years, Elis and John feel like family to me (distant cousins) so I’m only writing this in the hope that some course corrections are made and the show gets back to its best. The new format (to me at least) makes the show feel like its lost some of its urgency, we all know pressure is a...Read full review »

Messed with brilliance, this is now excruciating. I’m sad.

I love these three, lots of fun, laughs and like a conversational hug in your ears.

Elis and John do all they can with the format assigned to them, but BBC have really missed a trick with making it a podcast format only. If you want more of them, give them two live slots! This format does nothing for them, I’m really missing the silliness, time pressure, frantic mistake...Read full review »

Crying and laughing so much. Just brilliant.

Love this podcast, Elis, John and producer Dave never fail to have me chuckling. It's even better now it's a podcast first format and they are able to just chat whimsically. Many tangents are gone down and it's all wonderful! Happy digital decade boys and looking forward to the nextRead full review »

Lovely to have you back, enjoy listening to the three of you. Having listened to a few dreadful podcasts lately it only goes to show just how talented you guys are 🙌

Delighted to have them back. The love for these two and their show is huge and justified. Listen if you haven’t before. They make life better. :)

It’s a constant source of laughter, but also the friendship on display here is just a beautiful thing.

A real shame that the BBC have decided to put this podcast into managed decline, akin to one Margaret Thatcher and Liverpool in the 80’s, eh John? The pre recorded segments show a lot less time is being put into this one. Poor Adrian obviously had to do more than one record a day, and he...Read full review »

It’s suffered for losing its live vibe. Could be part of the natural ups and downs as happens over the years, but it feels far more rambling and wittering than before. Might even just be a tonal thing if it’s not a content thing. The biggest sign for me is that I always used to listen twice, now...Read full review »

This is the podcast I listen to for laugh out loud nonsense. It’s hard to describe to someone who hasn’t listened before - Elis, John and Dave are 3 guys enjoying a bit of banter, putting an amusing slant on every day situations and occasionally putting their foot in it, which all adds to the...Read full review »

Oh the joy that these lovely humans bring to my life! They are brilliantly honest in their wit and repartee. The now twice weekly podcast I 100% recommend to all world weary travellers to put a pep in your step and an arm around the shoulder. Great stuff.

Been with E&J& producer Dave for many years. Not ecstatic about the new format but I’m hanging in there as I love all 3 of you! Missing DJ Robins & various other features but still a solid follower.

I listen to a lot of podcasts and this is by far my favourite. Elis and John are a safe pair of hands to put a couple of hours of entertainment in. They are funny in a very genuine and heartwarming way and can be depended on to send you away happier than when you started the podcast. Producer...Read full review »

After completing their digital decade, messers James, Masterman & Robins continue to “back Britain” by creating content. Not just any content, but great content such as “cool club”, “Round the world in 80 Dave’s” and “shame well”. They will not let this slip, they will go again, they go to...Read full review »

Elis & John are two of the funniest, talented broadcasters around, but the “Great Reset” hasn’t really worked so far. The quality feels like it’s dropped a lot, and the absence of live broadcasting has a big impact. The great reset feels like a management decision that has misjudged why the...Read full review »

It honestly pains me to write this (long time listening PDC) but there is NO spark or “vibes” anymore. I know it’s still early days, but I feel like the format just isn’t work or doing the lads justice.

Really disappointing. Was Willing to give it a chance, but everything about the live show that made it unique and fun, has gone. Was unsure about the new format but it’s just as good as it always has been if not better. And now it’s twice a week, once you’ve finished one there’s another waiting for you. Highlight of my week (twice)

I love them but I can’t keep up. Let’s go back to one a week please! No podcast should be more than one ep per week. It is sufficient and anything more is greedy. Drowning in content already. (Also I miss them being live for various reasons.) ❤️🌸
biclighter via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 02/27/24
Early days I know, but feels like it has gone backwards. The Friday show was a joy, this freewheeling approach leaves us listening to a lot of flatter content. These guys are excellent but need to find their feet within the new format. Hate to criticise but just reviewing as requested.

I listened to this podcast for SO long. And so much of it is just so good. But … and I’m sure I can’t be the only one who feels this way … John Robins is just too obnoxious. I feel like he might just be overcompensating for having low self-esteem or something else (I get it but rein it, man),...Read full review »
