Early days I know, but feels like it has gone backwards. The Friday show was a joy, this freewheeling approach leaves us listening to a lot of flatter content. These guys are excellent but need to find their feet within the new format. Hate to criticise but just reviewing as requested.

…and the BBC will continue to shoot itself in the foot seemingly unable to realise this. Decide if you are making radio for a broad audience or a “comedians talk to each other and people who like them”podcasts. Both are valid, but they aren’t the same and they don’t work at the same time.

I listened to this podcast for SO long. And so much of it is just so good. But … and I’m sure I can’t be the only one who feels this way … John Robins is just too obnoxious. I feel like he might just be overcompensating for having low self-esteem or something else (I get it but rein it, man),...Read full review »

Since going pre-recorded the podcast has felt plodding and unstructured with little live interaction. Gone are the topical texters which were made outstanding through live riffing on interactions with listeners. 10 years of having to conform to the urgency of a radio structure are what brought...Read full review »

Wasn’t sure of the new format. Love it. More content than before. What’s not to like.

Ugh
What happened during the great reset ? Too much Dave , no live interaction it’s wobbly. Let’s see if it finds its feet.

Best podcast, have loved them all thru their digital Decade. Ignore the haters, liking the new looser vibe and the new stings/music etc (courtesy of The Lovely Robin)

Since the great reset I think the energy of live radio has been lost. Chat seems to meander and feel more forced, losing the edge and attitude that came from the preferred live performances. Shame, was great before so suggest people going back and listening from the start

Stop the irritating background music PLEASE.

Theres no sign of the staple features from the 5 Live Show, just unstructured waffle. To begin with the banter is entertaining, but not for a whole show. At this stage after the first week of new shows I’m willing to give the benefit of doubt having been a big fan of the 5 Live show.

I'm mainly familiar with Elis and John through their 'How do you cope?' podcast, whcih I really enjoyed. This new podcasst is great to listen to. The only thing I don't like is the background music for some of the features - not necessary - voices alone are fine.Read full review »

Sure, I was nervous. Would they keep the same joie de vivre after the reset? Thankfully the answer is an emphatic yes. Bring on another decade of audio food for the soul. Love you guys

This used to be the highlight of my weekly podcasts however slowly but surely it has got worse and worse throughout its time on the BBC to the point now that I have just listened to the ‘much anticipated, big reset’ and it’s awful, like agonisingly awful! This is a show built on live...Read full review »

The most relevant, young broadcasters Elis & John & producer Dave: beautiful human beings, relatable and above all, very very funny. Naturally then, they have the best PCD group around!

I adore these 3. I have followed them since day 1 on XFM and their podcasts are compulsive listening. Their chemistry with Prod. Dave is sublime. Absolutely hilarious and painfully honest. But a couple of things. We DO want a DI Robins pod complication please Dave. And it was more popular than...Read full review »

These boys in the last 10 years have helped me get through so much. They are chilled out, honest, funny, respectful and evolving as people right along with us the us the listeners. This is the only Podcast I have never taken a break from or lost interest in. I am expecting an invite to Elis and...Read full review »

The only things I don’t like about this show are… Johns failure to acknowledge that Jon is the better spelling of this name, I am the living proof; Ellis not being confident enough, even if it is a ruse to bolster Johns, at times, fragile ego; But above all is the FACT that their producer, Dave...Read full review »

It won’t take you long to work out who is the Yin and Yang. But both Ellis and John are loveable in their own ways. Dave has task to keep them both fit for BBC radio. Well, okay, John.!!

One of the best podcasts out there, Elis,John and Dave are a great trio, every week it’s laugh out loud funny ( which cannot be said for much of the entertainment put out these days). I cannot understand why they’re not on the comedy programmes on bbc , they’re funnier than 80% of the so called...Read full review »

I don’t know if the lads read these reviews, but I just wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to John. What Ellis and John have accomplished for the ploughman’s is similar to what Bob Geldof did for world hunger.

I’ve knocked a star off mirroring other comments in the reviews. I’m a retro oner, big big fan from the X days to now but we could just do with winding Dave back a bit into producer role not presenter. It feels like once he did that Mail for me Mail for You jingle it went to his head. Bring...Read full review »
