This week was cover the Big Thompson FLood of 1976 in Colorado, the worst natural disaster in the states' history, and the story of one family caught in the flood waters. Jerry Shaffer survived the ordeal and managed to stay above water in '76, and his family did the same again when the river flooded in 2013. We honor his survival skills (!), his story and the stories of everyone who survived the flooding. Remember to point your feet downriver and stay away from strainers!
