Worlds deadliest drinking game... Take a shot every time Coach Hörst talks about how long he’s been climbing or how good he is at coaching. Edit: Revisiting after a year and several episodes. Omg, I have never heard a human being speak for so long and say nothing at all. The latest episode...Read full review »

The host is extremely long winded. It makes it very hard to listen for good info when the podcast is 1.5 hours for 5-10 min of good info. Please shorten the episodes to be more direct. You can tell how intelligent and knowledgeable he is but it gets dull very quickly. He is constantly say one...Read full review »

Really like Eric’s ability to bridge the gap between his knowledge, current knowledge from research and practical application. He’s also great at reflecting naturally on what he has done that has or hasn’t worked or initial perceptions on concepts he’s tried out.

…if you are into fact based, data supported and science driven analysis. Tough to only listen to each episode just once. Thank you, Eric!

Don’t get me wrong. There are plenty of great climbing podcasts to listen to. But as someone who doesn’t feel climbing is the end all/be all of my life, I choose to limit how much of my attention it gets so that I don’t miss out on all the other wonderful things life has to offer. The reason...Read full review »

TL,DR: host has incredible knowledge but the podcast needs big improvement on delivery. I was listened to the energy system episodes. I’m putting 4 stars for the hard work the host put on and made available to us but overall I was quite disappointed. First there’s like 15 minutes of ranting...Read full review »

Eric blends the latest science with his personal experience of 45 climbing years in a brilliant way. Entertaining, very informative and certainly motivating to not rest in the status quo but to move forward! Thanks for your work, Eric! ✌️ Hannes aka ”Herkules“ :)

Coach Horst breaks down the science of climbing/training in a manner that’s both detailed and accessible. The result is a show that delivers actionable content week after week. My climbing has improved dramatically by employing the concepts he lays out — for free — in these episodes. His passion...Read full review »

I don’t know why some think it is clever to bring covid into things that have nothing to do with it, but his new intro, “your monthly audio injection, a proven virtual vaccination…” Give me a break. We come to podcasts to NOT think about the craziness in our society, not to be reminded of it in...Read full review »

I listen to this because it is consistently about the topic of training for climbing. Most of the other competitors waste your time on irrelevant topics and guests. Eric has credibility and real actionable information. The 4 versus 5 stars is because he does self deal his products a bit too...Read full review »

I live how coach Eric does not try to sound cool and douchey like the other podcast. He is like a teacher and he keeps it very interesting. This channel and his book are what i look forward to on my "me time". Thank you coach Eric! Keep up the good work!Read full review »

This podcast has been amazing. Lots of motivating information for people of all ages. I’ve often wondered if I started climbing too late (I’m 40), but this podcast reassures me that I still have plenty of time to reach my potential.

Undoubtably one of most knowledgable coaches across the sports these days! Instead of blindly pushing for results coach Horst is valuing enjoyment od life and being at the rocks, injury free training, balanced work/family/climb life - that is getting very rare these days...Thank you for that, Eric!😉

Other climbing podcasts about training meander through interviews where you have to listen for hours for that golden nugget that can help you. Not so with Hörsts podcast. The information on this podcast can be good, once he gets to it. The messaging could be much clearer and more to the point.
