“With the new format adopted during the 2011-12 offseason, Fangraphs' Carson Cistulli hosted podcast is operating on a regular schedule (mostly) of four episodes a week. Every Monday, Carson and Dave Cameron spend about 30 minutes talking about recent baseball news with actual analysis and opinion. This episode is must listen for a baseball fan. This part of the podcast gets 5 stars.
Unfortunately, once per week, Dayn Perry and Carson spend 30-45 minutes acting like 12-year-olds. Okay, maybe 14-year-olds. You have to listen through lots of insults and sexual innuendo with lots of bleeps to get to maybe five minutes of good content. I give these episodes a 2.
The remaining episodes are a mixed bag. An occasional great guest is mixed in with some less stellar offerings. I give these a 3 on average.
My preference would be to go back to the roundtable concept used in the early episodes perhaps once a week along with one episode of Dave Cameron. I will take less frequency with better quality anyday.”Read full review »
