Hilarious and intelligent debate for ST fans, new and old
I discovered FC last year by chance having never watched ST:TNG before (admittedly, I did quietly dismiss Trekkers as socially inept for many years; something that I now take back wholeheartedly). But now, thanks to these three very funny, dry-witted and likeable young British chaps, I am 'engaged' (ha ha - a little ST in-joke for you there). First of all to allay any preconceptions: this podcast isn't a novice effort by some ageing bedroom-dwelling fans with an unhealthy interest in Deanna Troi's jumpsuits. It's got pure clarity, skilled editing, in-jokes, its own cute stings, and a consistently smooth delivery. As a podcast highly focused on their subject matter, surprisingly FC isn't cautiously balanced and overprotective over the hosts’ beloved Star Trek. And don't be fooled - 2/3 of this podcasting team *are* huge fans. The big assumption here is that everyone who's ever seen TNG knows that the first (and arguably the second) season was just finding its feet, plagued by writers' strikes and other external influences, and suffered from questionable plots and characters. I have already blasted through the seven seasons of TNG already, yet before I listen to each episode of FC, I will re-watch the show in question to bone up before having every single minute detail ripped apart in front of my very ears (but in a very intelligent and laugh-out-loud-in-inappropriate-places kind of way). For a fledgling demi-fan like me, I just *get* it. The love for the show is obviously inherent; it really pours out of the podcast – whether the hosts would have you believe it or not!Read full review »

There's a real affection for Star Trek combined with great discussions and a few laughs along the way. If you like introcasts, then this is a good listen.Read full review »

Been stockpiling these episodes till I had a chance to give the show a careful listen. I am very impressed. Not only are the hosts knowledgeable about the episodes, but there is a very nice wit to the tone of the show. Very nice production value on this show, and it is nice to have a first...Read full review »

The reviews in this podcast have the right balence between reverence and ridicule. Can't until they reach the 'good' episodes, but at the rate they are producing the podcasts we have a long long wait!Read full review »
