“These guys totally misunderstood this show in the most thorough way possible. They spend literally no time discussing onscreen performance and interplay or cinematography, and spend the entire time parsing irrelevant minutae of the setting from a real world believability standpoint. Which is silly because it's a fantasy about a squid infested world where Nixon is a historical hero. They just didn't catch even the baseline themes of this (incredible) series. Watchmen is a purely character driven story. Almost obsessively so. There's no real plot. It's just about humans and our place in history and people's emotional resonance with an impossible world that's somehow no less strange than our own.”Read full review »
