The Bill Nye of Food
There are two things that I really liked about Bill Nye. First, he always digs deep into the story behind something that seems basic, breaking down what you think you know about it and opening or shifting your perspective. (Being very well-prepared and well-researched is essential for pulling this off.) Second, there were always quirky spins or surprising facts that usually left me science-shocked and/or ready to go investigate something myself. This show does that-- but with food! It's a perfectly timed dose of research ~about~ food to give some depth to the booming foodie culture. The charming co-hosts research widely, including conducting expert interviews, as they follow relevant and sometimes wacky topics, such as "How many bug body parts are in a pound of flour?" ; "Just how much did Benjamin Franklin like parmesan cheese, and why should I care?" ; and "What factors affect salmon farming, and how are breeders, the market, and native cultures impacted by them?" Great topics, witty co-hosts, and professional-grade editing. Indulge your curiosity, and prepare to be amazed at where it takes you.Read full review »

Listen to the...Read full review »
