According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, only 1 in 10 adults in the United States eat enough vegetables daily (!) The daily recommended vegetable intake varies, however, a general guideline is to consume at least 2.5 to 3 cups of vegetables per day. Here are 3 reasons why we should all try to get our veggies in: Vegetables are a great source of vitamins and minerals that are essential for a healthy body. They come in a variety of colors, each with their own unique nutritional benefits.Eating a variety of vegetables can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. One of the reasons for this is that they can be high in antioxidants that protect against cellular damage and inflammation.Vegetables are generally high in fiber which can improve gut health and aid in digestion.I personally love how versatile they are - they’re a great addition to any meal, whether raw, roasted, steamed, or grilled.
