Absolutely not for people who actually parkrun. The lack of knowledge by the main presenter Vassos is embarrassing for parkrun as a brand.

I skip everything and only listen to the interviews if they look interesting otherwise I don’t bother at all.

I really hope the new CEO of parkrun reforms this podcast in 2022. Since parkrun returned in July 2021, we have been treated to no less than 17 anecdotes by the host as to why he didn’t parkrun the previous weekend or bring a barcode. He clearly is irreverent and indifferent towards actually...Read full review »

I’ve listened to this since day one as I love all things parkrun. Vassos is entertaining, likeable and clearly lives for running. But he doesn’t seem to ‘get’ the subject matter and isn’t the right person to fly the flag for parkrun. I sometimes find myself wincing at his comments given the this...Read full review »

Just read some of the reviews and was surprised by some. I personally think Vassos is great, he does sometimes lack some knowledge but I like that, he doesn’t pretend to know everything, he just comes across as a great inspirational runner that thoroughly enjoys parkrun, I also like Helen’s...Read full review »

Before Parkrun paused, I have completed 75 parkruns in 3 different countries. Parkrun became the part of my weekly routine, therefore when I saw podcast title “parkrun’s back” I had to give it a listen. Since then I have listened almost all episodes (from episode 1) - 26 episodes left ;) I hope...Read full review »

The actual interviews and global updates are great but Vassos’ constant one-upmanship, showing off and name dropping are not very “Parkrun”.

Helen is obviously very knowledgeable and I enjoy the interviews when they are with someone truely passionate about parkrunning/volunteering. To be honest I find myself skipping past the presenter talking parts and only listening when I know there is a interview I fancy listening to.

Always look forward to it takes me to long to listen to as always nod off!! But keeps me coming back! Too much about presenters & bit disjointed - it’s not really junior aimed may be Helen be better for Helen to do junior podcast. Love to see podcasts record at events around country with...Read full review »

Any time i’ve listened, about 50% of the show has been about things other than parkrun. Presented by someone who doesn’t seem to parkrun all that often. The other presenter seems to be more interested in putting words in the interviewees mouth. Could be great if a few remedial issues were addressed.

Whilst knowledgeable about parkrun, new presenter Helen just talks too much, often interrupting and talking over guests. When asking questions she needs to allow her guests to talk, without always bringing it back to herself. Hopefully, with time, she’ll find her feet and develop more of an...Read full review »

Great last year but sorry the new addition of Helen and all the kid/vomit talk has put me right off! Gave it a couple of weeks to see if it would pass but it’s just not appealing anymore and sound quality shocking!

Helen is a great addition to this, bringing her experience as a ED and interesting insights from the early parkrun days. Her and Vassos make a fab team, loving the new format - especially when someone from parkrun HQ is on. Keep up the great work!

The podcasts are always entertaining and interesting. My only criticism would be that there are now too long - the best podcasts are under 30 minutes IMHO.

As this is the “official” parkrun podcast you’d think they would endorse someone who cares about and gets it. Vassos is either ignorant or lazy in that after a year of doing these pods he still knows bugger all about it, hardly ever does one and even then forgets his barcode. Louise on the other...Read full review »

I love FWT. Perfect for my commute and the format is spot on. Ideal for anyone new to Parkrun or someone who has done hundreds. Enjoy.

I like this podcast a lot - Louise and Vassos seem very nice and they have good chemistry. I like the interviews. The only downside is all the letters they read out from whinging listeners who complain when they don’t focus 100% on parkrun!
Swodaem via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 06/07/19
Great show, thoroughly researched and painstakingly fair. Always entertaining and evenhanded. Must take a lot of work to put this together every week so thank you for consistently maintaining such a high standard. Love it.

Sorry to be criticising what is a laudable and well intentioned show, but the ‘honeymoon period’ is well and truly over now. I’m afraid it’s got tired, stale and lazy, with change required. As parkrun is a grassroots activity, the focus needs to be on ‘normal runners’ which is the target...Read full review »

Sorry I’ve tried but a parkrun show with little reference to parkrun. I would listen to Louise all day long but when this week’s opening line was that no one had been to parkrun I gave up 🤷‍♀️

Saturdays are no longer the same now that parkrun is in my life. I’ve run 107, volunteered at almost 50 and set up parkrun in my city (Puarenga parkrun in Rotorua, New Zealand). I mention parkrun to everyone I meet who I know is trying to achieve a health or fitness goal. It’s changed my life -...Read full review »

Ok first things - some listeners are upset that Vassos chats about his ultra etc that aren’t in the parkrun brief. However I’m not one of them. This podcast brings all facets of parkrun from people who’re trying to complete the course to those who’re trying for a PB. It also meanders around those...Read full review »

Despite the brickbats heading the way of this show, I rather enjoy it! Have long been a fan of Vassos and a friend of Louise and I feel that they spark off each other rather well! As I said in the title, there’s no such thing as too much parkrun so it’s very nice to have another perspective!
Jovialgnome via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/30/19
Sorry guys - as much as I love Louise, gave up after a few weeks of shows. Vassos doesn’t come across as though he gets parkrun. Would be a great show about ultra running. Unsubscribed and deleted those not listened too.
KiernanE via Apple Podcasts · Great Britain · 01/24/19
I listen to this podcast every week and the more enjoyable episodes are definitely those that interview the grassroots of parkrun eg the run directors like Olwyn, the people who have hit milestones. The ultra runners and elite athletes who use Parkrun as their tempo run not so much. Louise is a...Read full review »

This is an entertaining and knowledgeable podcast about parkrun. Keeping it under 30 means that you can still listen to it on an easy 5km run. I love Louise’s enthusiasm and knowledge on parkrun. Having recently completed couch to 5k, I had been thinking about going to parkrun, registered and downloaded my barcode... but then didn’t get up the nerve to go. Really enjoy listening in to the chat on this show; very entertaining. It’s motivating me to get started at my local parkrun, which wasn’t around when I was able to run years ago. Keep up the great work!

I thought this podcast was meant to be about parkrun. STOP talking about yourselves, ONLY talk about parkrun.

There are lots of things about this parkrun I enjoy. Some of the guests have been inspiring, and good to see the balance shifting towards more 'ordinary' runners and more women. It captures a lot of the flavour of parkrun and the presenters are quite engaging too. If I have a criticism,...Read full review »

Meh
All this does is confirm the almost ‘cult like fanaticism’ that comes with parkrun (not a race)

What a great podcast Just a note to say, on the volunteering, a lot of us do our bit for other sports and parkrun is our little bit of “ me” time with similar minded people Most do help out when we can, so I am with Louise, and like to run
