Great overview of Music Theory and how to apply it to your fretboard
I should say that I am just getting back into Guitar. I played a lot in the 60-70’s (bass and rhythm) and started up again about three years ago focusing on acoustic rhythm. I never really took the time to learn theory or knew how to approach it, but now I found this wonderful podcast. I have been through the first two lessons and can tell you that Desi takes his time to explain the most important and basic details needed to build a solid foundation for Guitar playing. Very easy to understand and apply – he connects the dots (no pun intended) so it all makes sense. He not only teaches you the basics, but also why they are important and how they are used to further develop other needed skills. Fantastic! He also puts in some very nice relevant guitar playing in between the subjects being presented. These provide for a most enjoyable break and are very motivational. Thanks Desi – very well done.
