Superbly written, superbly produced, and gripping all the way through without manufacturing the drama. A brilliant history documentary podcast

The Arm Trials lacked evidence and the Gunplot Podcast lacks research. Despite access to Charles Haughey’s son we get very little information about the truth. As far as the makers are concerned, no Haughey information means no Haughey guilt. Haughey fanboys and Haughey apologists. The makers...Read full review »

Damning criticism by Des O’Malley in Sunday Independent. Any response?

This was really well done and I couldn’t wait for each new episode. I loved the old recordings of both Kellys, Lynch, Haughey etc. 9 episodes and you’ll definitely enjoy it.

An excellent and professionally produced podcast on what I as a child found to be a very confusing series of events. The arms trial cast a long shadow in Irish political life. It displayed the duplicity of leading politicians of the day and the dangers of taking them at their word. Well done to...Read full review »

A great podcast, casting a look back on the Arms Crisis of 1970. It shines a light on the “official version of the Arms Crisis” that has been put out over the past 50 years, and revisits the claims that this was a rogue operation by 2 Government Ministers attempting to import arms for the IRA in...Read full review »

Very interesting, and will not miss an episode, directed to those with little knowledge of Irish politics and Irish history, hence the repetition. Appropriate Introductory music too long.

Could have been a excellent podcast but very little new information every week. It repeats itself a lot & goes over old ground when it isn’t needed. Treats the listen like a child omg their are 2 Kelly’s.

This story is well told but I am earnestly trying to decide what is new here other than the tape recordings of the trial .

Excellent podcast. TV doc was too short with not enough detail. Needed more time

Disappointed but not suprised seen as it’s an RTE production to see the racist bigot Gregory Campbell have such a prominent contribution to this which is otherwise a good production.

We’ve heard so much about collusion in relation to the troubles but rarely laid out so clearly and evidently in relation to Irish Republican collusion. A mix for historical footage and modern interviews are hung together well to make this an interesting podcast. The dubious accounts of...Read full review »

I was too young at the time to appreciate what was going on but have some recollections of the headlines and news bulletins. This series (much like the book “Say Nothing”) fleshes out the back story perfectly. Highly recommended for anyone interested in the history of the era.
