I remember being a kid huddled around the TV and looking outside like I’m expecting a big boom. But my parents thankfully knew nothing was going to happen…. I’m not sure if I was faced with a similar situation I’d acted as calm. But 2012 didn’t amount to much… thanks for the pod!

My family prepped for Y2K when I was 13. This was exciting, scary, life-changing (we moved to an new area so we could live off the land, my dad tried to start a new business, failed, our family ended up in debt, living less than paycheck to paycheck, and more). Listening to this podcast has been...Read full review »

I started my podcast adventure listening to true crime. However, I took a detour to listen to the Richard Simmons podcast. I am glad I did. I moved to the next series with Y2K. It is almost perfection. A time period we all have different memories and life experiences. This podcast tells us...Read full review »

Dan is such an amazing story teller. No one else does it better. I love all of his podcasts

Dan Taberski has become my favourite podcaster over the last few months. He takes a lateral view of a story and shares them with humour and a candid compassion. His topic choice and interview skills are second to none.

Dan Taberski is without a doubt the best podcaster ever. Another phenomenal season.

I love everything Dan does. Brilliant.

This was absolutely fascinating to me. I was in my late 20’s and expecting my second child when Y2K hit. Some of this was a flashback to me but most was new information. I absolutely love the sound of Dan’s voice. Most podcasts I have to rewind to get information I missed when I zoned out -...Read full review »

It’s super interesting and I love how it explains so many different points of view and I love his voice! Will recommend!

This is so clever. Dan and his team have managed to attack a huge issue, that could have been so impersonal and ‘techy’, but instead have gifted us some beautiful human stories that tell the tale. Make more! Please x

Really great series: storytelling at its best. However it was a difficult listen due to a silly pet peeve of mine: the millennium changed over at end of 2000, so it was not contemporaneous with Y2K. While unimportant, this conflation grated every time. Even a wink at the beginning would have...Read full review »

The host of this podcast is a smart guy, and he knows how to put together information to make an interesting presentation. I do not understand, however, why every second podcast has to focus on gender identity issues, even when the topic of the podcase clearly has zero to do with the issue of...Read full review »

Thank you for this series! Really enjoyed it. I was 25 when 2000 rolled in, and my husband worked in IT for the US government. We were acutely aware of all the Y2K issues at the time. It’s so cool to hear all the different perspectives and experiences. Great work.

Nothing happened on Y2K...right? Wrong. Your stories were fascinating. I binged the series. 5 stars!

Such fantastic writing. Emotional, riveting, hysterically funny and also surprisingly moving. This is seriously one of the best I have ever listened to. I screamed my voice to the point of laryngitis at a drag show to ring in Y2K then joked about how my voice wasn’t Y2K compliant. This brought...Read full review »

Just binged (thanks to article from WSJ). Just riveting! Thank you, Dan. Thank you for reminding us of the craziness, as well as the those who kept it together. My now husband & I went skiing December 29, 1999. On the lift ticket (a relic), it was printed “Goodbye 19th Century!” 😂😂😂

Just binged Y2K and Running from Cops. Amazing tone and pacing. Headlong is in a league of its own when it comes to reporting and story weaving. Much respect to Mr. Taberski. Keep up the good work!

This is a little gem of a podcast series. I thought the subject was interesting and worth a try, but I wasn’t expecting to become so drawn in to it. It’s really about people and behaviour through the lens of Y2K. At times I was sad and other times it really made me smile- both in Dan’s story...Read full review »

Episodes 1-6 were great, but the bonus episode was so tedious to listen to that I stopped with 5 minutes left. It was like eating a terrific meal with one delicious course after the next followed by a terrible dessert.

This podcast is possibly the best I’ve ever listened to. It’s sad, hopeful, optimistic and tells incredibly intimate stories. It’s about Y2K but is tells a stories of how our decisions shape our lives.

Whether you lived the Y2K insanity or were born after and have no idea what it is- you should listen to this. 💯

Another fabulous podcast from Dan, who’s not only a great podcaster, but also a very talented writer. I had to pause the show several times just to absorb the writing. Nice job.

I devoured this podcast and felt like I really “knew” the folks featured in this story. My mom worked as part of a team called Y2K Project for a large power company in my state in the years preceding 2000, so I was familiar with what I THOUGHT the subject matter would be. Boy, was I wrong. So...Read full review »

I was introduced to Headlong through an ad for Season 3, Running From COPS, on another podcast. After binging that in two days I started this season. By the time the first episode reached its midpoint break I was hooked. Dan and the team make a podcast like no other. Can’t wait for Season 4
