I have a special guest for you today, Elyse, who I brought on to talk about something that I believe can be very crucial to our ability to live healthy BUT that there is still a lot of confusion around, for myself included. And that is low-tox living or learning to minimize the toxic load on our bodies. Now she shares more details about what that means but if you’re getting ready to turn this off because you think this doesn’t apply to you or it’ll be way to overwhelming, let me share this one thing first:   One of the things that she shared that encouraged me as I was thinking about all that she shared was this: It’s not about being perfect or shaming anyone for what they’re doing but it is about knowing better so you can do better. It’s about awareness and then taking one step at a time to change one thing at a time.    So remember as you’re listening that you have to simply start where you are with what you CAN do and grow from there.    Ask yourself what your health priority is right now: is it gut health, your hormone balance and cycle health, is it weight loss, is it mental health, is it sleep or rest… then start there by maybe investigating what toxins are involved in those areas.    Elyse shares her belief that this is just one more way that you can put your health first as a mom in a way that sets your kids up for success in their health as well.    That being said, this may not be where you are at all right now, you may have zero capacity to think about this and that’s fine. BUT I wanted to share still for the moms that are listening, where they’ve tried all the other things but have some chronic issues where reducing toxins may be just the solution that they need.    My prayer is that by listening to this you are able to begin to understand that our bodies are giving us warning signs that something is wrong but because we’ve learned to ignore them for so long we often don’t investigate the actual cause and look for a solution. Your solution may be to begin a low tox journey, it may to go to your doctor or see a therapist, it may be to begin working with a coach like myself to help you overcome to the mindset and spiritual blocks that you’ve had to making the healthy choices you know you need to be making when it comes to your diet or exercising.
