Erin & Melody - you guys should read "The Duke" by Gaelen Foley!! It's in England-times (if the title wasn't a giveaway...) where bad things happen to Bel (TW: sexual assault - it is handled well) and she becomes a courtesan and eventually the mistress of the Duke of Hawkscliffe (his nickname is Hawk, OBVIOUSLY) who doesn't want to sleep with her (at first...) but wants her help in solving the mysterious death of the woman he was in love with.
