“Personally, I’ve experienced spiritual abuse and I’ve seen many issues within the modern day evangelical church. With that being said, I feel like this podcast is not really looking to reform the church but rather a socio-political Trojan horse. With pushinga very obvious modern day agenda, I feel like the podcaster’s faith is more in modern day liberalism than Christ. Now I do sympathize with many of the stories and I’m deeply hurt and angry by the actions of these so called shepherds but I know they don’t represent Christ. Jesus not the “divine” is the good shepherd and He warned us not to call anyone Father or teacher for He alone is both. I only say that because after my personal encounter with spiritual abuse, I still believe Jesus is the way the truth and the life and through Him there is is reconciliation with God. The actions of the few while they are reprehensible do not represent my Lord and my God and He will hold them accountable. Now on to the “documentary” aspect of the podcast. It’s a lot of talking, very little research and clear manufactured drama that you see on reality tv. Do better Discovery plus. If you are looking for a better researched podcast I would suggest the Rise and Fall of Mars Hill.”
