Better than any Undergrad course on SEA I’ve heard of
The History of Southeast Asia podcast is a tremendous help to a student of Asian studies. His chronological and methodical approach provides the listeners with a solid foundation and context for appreciating the enduring themes of SEA politics and geopolitics. I’m a professional Asia hand and have a Master degree in SEA studies. I’ve been to a fair number of the places discussed. Not only do I find Charles Kimball’s research to be accurate and fairly full, I am continually impressed by his ability to weave the historic events into coherent narratives. This is an essential podcast for me. I only wish he had started it a decade ago before I started my studies! Great work, Mr. Kimball.
