Great detail well told
Very well paced and in depth examination of German history. I particularly appreciate that the sources are mostly in German (I assume, based on what I hear). That corroborates for me the impression I get that we are really hearing direct perspectives from those most likely to know the source material and care. Not some Anglo outsider view (like mine would be).

More reviews of History of the Germans
Dirk does a great job at laying out the narrative in a coherent way that is also easy to listen to. The fact that he is actually German gives it an extra bit of authenticity similar to the History of England.

The podcast is informative and entertaining. My knowledge of Germany was limited to the World Wars through the Cold War. I find that the host gives enough knowledge, with some humor, that I will repeat the episodes to be sure that I am familiar with Otto, Conrad, Henry, Liudolf, and the Hungarians!
