How can the host of a history podcast not know who Mary Magdalene is or think that Jesus Christ Superstar is a comedy.
Oppiopp via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 03/14/24
Believing the one episode I listened to may have been a poor representation, I tried listening to another. Unfortunately, the hosts entertained themselves with sophomoric giggling and generally behaved like high schoolers trying to impress their friends. The female host practices a vocal fry...Read full review »

The hosts are monotonous, childish, biased, at times ridiculous and I would even go so far as to say race baiting. There are much better history podcasts out there, save your time and find one.

Short (I like long podcasts) but packed with pertinent details. Good stories. Good storyteller.

I enjoyed a couple of episodes but listening to the David Reiner episode was painful! It’s such an important story but I found the hosts just fumbled their way through this topic, couldn’t articulate their ‘thoughts’ making this episode just cringy when the story deserves so much more!

It’s just the voices.. unbearable. Content good.

Topics can be interesting. Two people, male and female, banter in like high school like pseudo English like until you like want to hear like fingernails on a chalkboard as like an improvement. PLEASE if you are going to host a podcast, learn to speak coherently.

Choice in subject matter is always interesting but production feels just above college level. Episodes don’t feel well prepped or well edited. Minor example — If you’re going to do an episode on Pat Tillman, it might be a good idea to figure out how you’re going to pronounce al qaeda before taping.

I have always been interested in historical events, but I’ve never found a podcast that allowed me to explore this untapped resource. I was turned on to this podcast by a friend and I very much enjoyed the two hosts in particular Kaleena who’s intonation and comfortable conversational style is...Read full review »

I enjoy listening to this podcast every week, particularly since the format shifted to be more conversational. Both hosts are entertaining and I like the dynamic between them. The stories are presented in a really digestible format, makes a great afternoon listen. Another review mentioned the...Read full review »

For a “history” podcast these two know hardly anything. Empty calories for your brain

SchwannSchwannson via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/05/23
Love this podcast! Topics are unique and interesting, not always the kind of stuff you see talked about elsewhere. The back and forth between the two hosts is fun as well.
AustinCHarvey via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 08/04/23
Dude bums out the story’s tone and loses track very easy. His voice is agitating and hard to stay interested in the story. And please… no more jokes from him….

While the other reviews of the female’s narration is hard to listen to (voice is just off and pronunciations are just wrong) my biggest problem is how much of the story/info about Titanic and her sinking and aftermath is either missing from the episodes or just plain wrong. These two should have...Read full review »

I really like this podcast but I have been really taken back by the a David Reiner episode. While the hosts mention that the particular practices involving showing children pornography, placing them in sexual positions, having them undress, and taking pictures of them are “less easy to justify”...Read full review »

I had high hopes for this podcast. I would hate for any family member of John Edward Jones to hear your Nutty Putty episode. Insensitive. Tasteless. I could not believe all the LAUGHTER & giggles from hosts. Gross.

The history topics are interesting. But the people narrating are boring and monotonous. I hate ads, but find them a relief when they come on because they have some energy and life to them.
Sandalah44 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 06/26/23
The episodes where its just you 2 talking about your opinions and theories are absolutely annoying and boring! “Opinion yeah yeah another opinion yeah yeah and another opinion. Geez! Come on! Find some other material to do!

Really good stories if you want to learn about people and events from the past that didn’t come up in school and don’t get talked about much elsewhere. The one about the Rockefeller guy who was probably cannibalized, or the one about how Marilyn Monroe might have been murdered — it’s just cool...Read full review »

The story lines are good but the guy narrating keeps whistling Dixie every singe S he says or when ever he uses S in a sentence he makes that god awful whistling sound! And it drives me crazy!!

I love this podcast. It’s interesting and historically accurate! The narrator presents information in an engaging way, and best of all, there are no ads!

Interesting podcasts until I heard “The Founding Fathers.” A couple of unaccomplished, unremarkable podcasters, with their whiny, judgmental attitudes, having the balls to rate the founding fathers really rubbed me the wrong way. As humans, yeah they’re flawed, but they are products of their...Read full review »

Monotone narrating takes a bit to get used to. Also there is so many irrefutable historical inaccuracies in the founding fathers episode that I lost track after about 30 of them.

This show could be so good if someone with an ounce of energy and excitement hosted it. It’s just unbearable in the monotonous library reading tone and horribly produced sound between segments. Start fresh with a new season and new host!

Hi. Loving the show thanks. For some reason the podcast dips on and out constantly. It’s downloaded and none of the other podcasts do this. Does anyone know why?

So interesting, love the topics. But I couldn’t do more then a couple episodes. I’m sorry but the girl narrator is frustratingly annoying, I dunno sound like a child reading above her level. Full of mispronunciation and spoken without any feelings

Content is interesting & So you’d do alot better if you just told the story accurately and leave out your obvious bias opinions. Judging by the other reviews…know your audience. Not everyone is left leaning democrats.

As a history nut I’m appalled at your complete naivety of what your speaking about. As a history platform you have the responsibility to bring facts not opinions to further some personal agenda! How about looking in the mirror to see who is really trying to benefit from others expense!

I am adding to my earlier review of “Founding Fathers.” Part of what makes me feel there is shaming and opinion are the connections you try to make with Trump and Bush, painting them as two presidents that try to limit freedom of speech. They did their best to take fascinating content and present it in a way...like someone ordered them to be boring.
