This show is so creative! My grade 9 students have been loving it! I especially love the inclusive and diverse characters. The conflicts have been thoughtfully created with many connections to real-world social issues. Great work!

When using a beloved source material, it's really tricky to not lean too heavily in one direction or the other, but Hit the Bricks nails the sweet spot of faithful to the source material while adding enough of its own magic & charm. The writing is sublime & the sound design even more...Read full review »

I can not begin to rave enough about this podcast. Continuing the tradition of L. Frank Baum in a very organic and clever way, Hit the Bricks is a brand new, modern and inclusive sequel to the first 14 books of the series. Littered with Easter Eggs, pathos and charm, it’s a blast to listen to...Read full review »

If you like fairytale logic this podcast has you covered. The music and story are amazing and how they imagine the world of oz is wonderful. I haven’t been able to get hit the bricks out of my head for days now.

I recently found the podcast from podchaser and have been absolutely entertained throughout the whole show. The characters are unique and the music is lovely!

If you love The Wizard of Oz or just want to be transported to another world, go give this a listen. It takes place 100 years after Dorothy's famous adventures in Oz, and the show beautifully captures that world's beauty, whimsy, and dangers. And: it's a musical!Read full review »

This podcast is absolutely delightful! Everything from the script to the acting to the sound design to the beautiful music is truly a joy to listen to. I'm very glad they got nominated for the 2020 Audio Verse Awards, as I might otherwise not have discovered this podcast! If you love L....Read full review »

It feels like a children’s book, reminiscent of the way the Wizard of Oz itself was written—plotted in a manner very convenient for the heroes, full of stumbling upon people who are happy to help and send them on the next stage of their quest, but in a fun and charming way. I’m having fun...Read full review »

Campy storyline and could not get into any of the songs. It lost me right from the start, but I pushed on through two episodes. Never got better. Unsubscribe/delete If you like musicals, try "36 Questions”. “In Strange Woods” also has quite a few songs.Read full review »

Great story line but only gave it 4 stars because I have the songs they insert. I wish they would take out the music and just stick to the story.

This show starts every episode with a brief intro reminiscent of sitting in a theatre and hearing the orchestra tuning their instruments. It immediately sets the mood that you're stepping into a version of reality that will be heightened and a bit different from the one we know. Fans of Oz...Read full review »

I love the reentry to Oz with a new set of characters and how well the story picks up after “return to Oz” also great soundscapes and depiction of what the land has transformed into with new perils/old villains.
Hellcatkelly via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 12/02/20
Great writing, and the soundscapes they make are perfect and draw you in so well! The female voices are too similar though and it’s often hard to tell who is speaking in a scene. Especially with characters we aren’t familiar with. Plotted very well and fairly true to frank l baum’s fantastic...Read full review »

Wow I am so here for this. HTB has an incredible team making this show and I just know it's going to be phenomenal. The acting, writing, sound design, and general FEELING of this show is so obvious with just the pilot. It's dreamy and has such a beautiful sense of wonder. While it dabbles...Read full review »

Hit the Bricks is a beautiful, dreamy show with a nostalgic, bittersweet tone. It has all the fun and absurdity of the original Oz stories with a hint of their dread. Michelle Agresti knocks it out of the park in the lead role. I can't wait to hear where this story goes.Read full review »

Really strong pilot. Very charming and well-acted, especially the long scene between Jessie and the Nameless Person at the end. Would love to see where this goes, hope to hear more soon!
