The fairytales being read are wonderful. The only thing I wish was that there were transcripts so I can have to the tales in writing. It’s not easy to find some of these Slavic fairytales on the internet!

Thank you for the good stories. This podcast has been a light to me in the darkest time of my life. I can’t describe enough until you listen how the music delights me and enhances kotar’s wonderful rhythmical readings

A family favorite and also one of my favorite corners of the internet to share with others. Thank you both for the high quality sound and content. It feels like an indulgence and a renewal at the same time. 💚

My children are always eager for a new episode to come out and we all listen to it together. The music is incredible and it, with Dn. Nicholas’ narration, make the story come alive. It has been bonding for our family to listen (and re-listen) to these. Dn Nicholas’ reflections and comments are...Read full review »

What a fun podcast! The tellings are dramatic and well done. The discussion following is so educational. And the piano is masterful. Thank you! My kids and I have loved listening!

I was literally just telling my wife I’d love someone to do a podcast of Slavic fairy tales to play in the evenings for the kids by the fire. Serendipitously, here we are! This is an ambitious and fantastic way to bring story to our lives in a time where it’s never been needed more. Kevin Zalac

This podcast is so well done - the music and the storytelling are perfectly matched. Deacon Kotar’s commentary is very insightful and pertinent!

First of all, it is a joy to have someone who knows how to pronounce all of those Slavic names pronouncing them for me! Also, Kotar’s children are very lucky to have him for their bedtime stories - he has enthusiasm, timing, variation in tone and different voices. All of these oral means of...Read full review »

I really enjoy learning more about Russian fairytales. Nicholas is a great storyteller and the music in the background is an extra bonus. Do yourself a favor and get lost into the world of Russian fairytales.

This is an amazing podcast. The author tells the tales so well, I can taste my grandma‘s “snacks”. She called everything snacks, when every dish and condiment filled our counter to overflowing. Really, like Tetris. Nicholas Kotar has this same way of displaying the delicious story, and then...Read full review »

I’m an Orthodox Christian, and I study Russian in my free time, but I haven’t spent much time with Slavic Fairy Tales. I’m enjoying these first few episodes, and I’m looking forward to where this podcast is going!

Yes! Just yes! What this world needs is a return to the stories that form a foundation for our culture. Return to where you began, if you will. Myth, fairy tales...these will guide us. Great beginning to, a hoped for, long run.
