Please pay attention to the volume control. Quite often, it gets really hard to hear what they are saying. The volume of their voices keep switching between extremely loud in one moment and then too small even with the highest volume setting. I’m not sure if it’s because they are moving away from...Read full review »

I enjoy the info. The truly talk over each other more than not, so grating

The production values on this podcast are unbearably bad. Like they’re talking to each other through tin cans and a string. Can’t you put a little money into better mics and a sound engineer?

I get a lot of information out of this podcast but the two hosts (especially Anne Thompson) consistently talk over and interrupt each other. This has made me turn the podcast off multiple times despite how informative it can be. (It simply becomes too difficult to listen to.) There are also too...Read full review »

Constantly talking over each other, to the point that I have to stop listening. When not doing that, they provide good insight on the race and industry but it’s just not worth it.

Oof
The two hosts are both intelligent people with great points. But the constant talking over each other makes this podcast a chore to get through. They tried to not do it, in assuming after reading all the comments here, but their recent Oscar nominations episode was excruciating. I appreciate...Read full review »

One of my favorite podcasts, thank you so much for this one. One question though: could Anne Thompson let Eric Kohn talk without constantly interrupting him? That would be very helpful - that way I will be able to hear both points of view and not the mishmash of voices.

These two hate eachother right? This has been unlistenable for a long time. Anne needs to let Eric talk or find a new cohost. Yikes.

Put me on the email list for when Anne leaves the show! Love the topics but I have enough contrarian-for-the-sake-of-it types in my undergrad classes

Anne talks over Eric too much and the sound quality is scratchy. The content does little to push any exciting new narratives around the awards season, so the podcast’s relative position of esteem within a prognostication circuit is very much part of the problem when it comes to a lack of...Read full review »

Two violently high-strung critics Kool-Aid burst through each other’s sentences for 32 minutes weekly ..... as with a lot of film publication podcasts, these voices are so much more effective on the page than in recorded conversation.

You both have wonderful insight but you constantly interrupt him and are condescending. I think it’s so important to have women voices in film conversations but your negativity to him feels like borderline harassment. And please take opinions and lead them into conversations. Sometimes Eric...Read full review »

Some really interesting talks with enthusiastic hosts but they need to learn to stop interrupting each other every second when someone else is speaking. So many buts. Also the way they “discuss” a topic is more like them competing who knows better about a certain topic, hence the need to...Read full review »

This is the first time I’ve ever looked at the reviews of a podcast. And my comments are no different: The interrupting has to stop. You both have insightful things to say, but you don’t listen to each other say them. I can’t count the number of times I’ve heard you say the same things over each...Read full review »

Two thumbs up for content, but the hosts really need to stop talking over each other. Some of the points being made are totally lost in the overlapping rants. And at times they just sound like they’re bickering. It can make for an uncomfortable listening experience.

Eric, do yourself a favor and get rid of Anne. Her snide, condescending attitude and lack of respect for another person's view is really offputting and obnoxious. I have stopped listening, and I can see other's have too for this very reason. Your show is suffering. And Anne, please...Read full review »

I was going to write a review to complain that I don’t like how Ann interrupts and talks over Eric but I see many other people have made the same complaint so I add my complaint to the pile. considering dropping this podcast if it doesn’t improve.

Some will blame Anne. Some will blame Eric. I find they're both equally prone to constantly interrupting each other or talking over each other. Please get some different microphones or record whereby it doesn't sound like you're sitting in an empty bathroom. The echo and sound is absolutely horrific. I don’t know how Eric puts up with her. She is way too opinionated and has no respect for him. That woman is simply shrill and pretentious. Too bad they never seem to read any of these reviews.

Well, it wouldn’t be a Screen Talk episode without Anne Thompson steamrolling through each and every conversation... is she being interviewed? I thought they were supposed to be CO-hosts.

Eric, are you able to stop talking... ?! You talk over and through everything Ann says - it is so annoying and, do you get it, we, the listeners miss a lot of what’s being said. The addition of Libby Hill is honestly keeping me subscribed! Explores the film&media landscape with depth. Sometimes Eric’s personal experience with a film is argued too far & flimsily and I lose any interest 😬 sorry Eric, I love Lucrecia too

I like your show and I appreciate your wide coverage of the movie industry, but, please, stop interrupting and talking over each other. It creates an uncomfortable tension for listeners. At the end of your episodes I often feel like you two dislike each other.
