Description
This woman holds a special place in my heart because she’s a Beaver and has had much success coaching gymnastics at my beloved Oregon State. I’ve always admired how Tanya Chaplin has led her program to great heights but more than that, she’s always had incredible young ladies on her team and I think that speaks volumes about her as a coach and person. Tanya competed collegiately at UCLA where she was a six-time All-American and two-time Pac-10 Gymnast of the Year. She also is a three-time member of the U.S. National Team. She began her coaching career as an assistant at UCLA and Washington. In 1998 she was named the head coach at Oregon State where she is a five-time Pac-10 Coach of the Year, in 2011 was named the West Region Coach of the Year and she has led her team to 11 NCAA Championship appearances. Let’s get to know the woman behind all of the success!
