This man has a VERY good way of teaching programming. The best out there. The new course for Swift is much better if you are starting to learn IOS programming (since it is the new language apple has made). That being said… This course is not outdated because of the new one, since CoreData is only...Read full review »

Very organized, understandable, relevant, and well presented. And unlike the lecturers in every other iTunes U series on iOS programming, Paul Hegarty doesn't begin every sentence with, "Um…"

Paul Hegarty is an insightful, interesting lecturer and one with a seasoned appreciation for proper programming methodology. This is not a novice course--you should have some experience as a programmer to fully appreciate it. But for those ready, there's nothing better out there: you will be...Read full review »

I have learnt so much from this excellent course. So useful to go back to time and time again to keep on the straight and narrow.

Stanford lectures series poorly sorted and sequenced As good as the lectures are, knowing exactly what order to play them is a nightmare. Specifically the Programming Abstractions and iOS dev series are a jumble (esp. the Abstractions) -- some items are numbered, some (many) are not; and when...Read full review »

This is excellent! I am an aspiring, self-taught IOS developer and have had trouble understanding some of the basic underlying concepts. I had never been exposed to object oriented programming before starting on this adventure. I was slowly figuring things out the hard way and stumbled upon this...Read full review »

Its great material to keep as reference for iOS developers. Paul has explained this with greater depth and material is quite comrehensive. Good work from great university and their master trainer.

Having a C# and Java background I was surprised to flip through dozens of books, videos and websites and have a hard time trying to get into Objective-C and really found most sources just doing instead of explaining. I'm only 3 classes in but this is by far the best intro to iOS, X Code and...Read full review »

I wish I all my teacher at university were that good. It is a great class, mister Hegarty is an excellent teacher and the material is very well written. Харизматичный дядька это Paul Hegarty. Рассказывает интересно и доступно. Делает акценты на концепциях и особенностях Obj C, таким образом, курс не только про Xcode и разные фреймворки, но и о методиках и стилях программирования

I learned more by watching lecture 1&2 alone than I did reading half of the IOS programming book I just bought. I recommend it to every one, if even just as a refresher of your existing knowledge. It's so cool to actually have current IOS 5 information than to read a new but already dated book.

As a teacher and programmer I cannot praise this course enough. I did a CS degree in the days when COBOL was for suits and FORTRAN was for hippies.
