Disappointed.
I first met J. At a retreat center and loved his thoughtful, gentle approach. He was already being a bit controversial and making a name for himself with his somewhat self-indulgent opinions. He has had access to some amazing teachers and I used to listen to the podcast regularly. Since the Whitwell scandal I have stopped. I’m really disappointed in J.’s lack of ability to practice self-reflection or consider the impact of his podcast on the yoga community. It comes across as childish and self-involved, but this misogyny and ignorance cause real harm. There are other yoga podcasts!
