“Never mind the jokes that did work, you'll learn much more from the ones that don't!
You'd think comedians talking about jokes that didn't work would be just as painful to listen to as the silence that banished them back to the notebook in the first place, but this really is a fascinating listen.
Listening to Mark and guests bat ideas back and forth is great for picking up tips for your own writing and really cements the big difference talking to someone else about your writing can make.
I'd particularly recommend the episodes of comics Mark has toured with as the banter between Mark and in the Seann Walsh and Rob BecKett episodes really is liquid podcasting.
The only thing I'd be looking for more of, is a bit more probing into how the guests like to write jokes, where they write best etc. But you've always got the Stu Goldsmith podcast for that.”Read full review »

“I only found Mark Simmons 6 months ago, to be honest i thought he looked like Domnhall Gleeson who i think is well fit so i watched his instagram comedy clips and he really made me giggle
