Kunstler is 100% correct but is the Joker of Peak Oil
I couldn't help but marvel at the irony of Kunstler's negative review of the Batman movie on his web site. His analysis and thoughts on suburbia and "the greatest misalocation of assets in the history of the world" is dead right. I always agree with him. Unfortunately, I get sick of his mean and hateful tone. He was so critical of the Joker as this sadistic clown but that is exactly how I see Kunstler. He is the maniacal clown laughing hysterically as the world melts down. He revels in it. A couple of days ago I spoke with my good friend who turned me on to Kunstler's amazing book "The Long Emergency" and asked him if he kept up with Kunstler's writing. My friend immediately jumped in with his own opinion that Kunstler appears more interested in being right than making a difference. Bitter party of one! I want to hear Kunstler on NPR but I'm hesitant to recommend him to the shows because he gets so vile. Why does he need to use the F word with such abandon? His audience would grow exponentially if he just had an ounce of class. He is so critical of tatoos but he curses worse than any sailor or marine I've ever met and I grew up in military housing. I want to know who died and made him queen (refering to every definition of that word).Read full review »

After reading (and buying) JHK's books over the past twenty years, I eagerly look forward to the Kunstlercast each week. JHK is super-informed, opinionated (fine with me), salty, funny. For anyone who has any anger at all about the dumbing down of America's built environment, and a desire...Read full review »
